Rapier
| ||||||
|
The Rapier is a sword-type weapon in the Fire Emblem series. This sword is quite unique, because it can be only wielded by certain characters of noble descent; it is the personal weapon of Marth, Roy, Eliwood and Eirika.
Fairly light and accurate yet somewhat weak, this weapon deals extra damage against armored and mounted units.
The rapier has appeared in nine games so far, the exceptions being Gaiden, Seisen no Keifu, Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn.

Rapier |
-- |
Spanish |
Estoque |
The Spanish term "estoque" can refer to diverse swords. The one featured in the Fire Emblem series is also known as espada ropera. |
Trivia
- Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 is the only game where this sword is not a personal weapon; this could be due to the Light Sword being Leaf's signature sword.
- Feena is not from nobility, but she can wield the rapier in Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem. This was changed in Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem.
- Although the setting of the series seems to be inspired by the Middle Ages, the rapier was mainly used in the 16th and 17th centuries, during the Renaissance.
