Lyndis, please forgive a prideful old man. If I had but accepted your parents’ love… There would have been no bandits. We would have lived here together in perfect peace.
— Hausen

Lord Hausen (Japanese: ハウゼン Hausen) is Lyn's maternal grandfather and the marquess of Caelin in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. His younger brother is Lundgren, who tries to usurp the Caelin throne from him in Lyn's tale.

Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade

Role

Nineteen years (sixteen years in the Japanese version) before Lyn's tale, Madelyn, Hausen's daughter, and Hassar, a nomad from Sacae, eloped and tried to go to Sacae. After then, he was angry, and ordered Wallace to bring them back to Caelin.[1] But Wallace let them cross the border and go to Sacae, and Hausen imprisoned Wallace for six months,[2] and declared that he had no daughter.[3] Eventually, though, Hausen thanked to Wallace.[4]

In Lyn's tale, Hausen received a letter from Madelyn, saying Madelyn and Hassar had a daughter, and then sent two knights Sain and Kent to them, despite Madelyn and Hassar were killed a few days after she sent the letter. While the two knights bring Lyn to Hausen, he is poisoned due to Lundgren's plot to take his throne. After the defeat of Lundgren, he lives with Lyn and recovers his health.

In Eliwood's and Hector's tales, Castle Caelin is captured by Darin, the marquess of Laus, and when Eliwood enters Castle Caelin, he is attacked by Ephidel. Ephidel ordered Leila to assassinate him and hide the body, but she leaves him alive, and he is protected by some soldiers of Caelin.

Some time after the final battle, Hausen dies, and Lyn, his granddaughter and the successor of the marquess of Caelin, entrusts her territory under Ostian protection.[5]
