Appearance(s)

Elice (pronounced /ˈɛlɪs/[key][2]; Japanese: エリス Elice) is the daughter of King Cornelius and Queen Liza, making her the princess of Altea. She is also the older sister of Marth.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light

Role

Elice was held captive in Thabes by Gharnef so that he could make use of her ability to use the Aum staff. When Marth and his army seized Thabes and rescued Elice she joined the army for Marth's final push against the kingdom of Dolhr.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Compared to Curates available earlier like Lena or Maria, Elice doesn't offer much to justify using her over any other healer. She has very bad availability, as she is only available in the last two chapters; her growth rates are generally better than the other curates, but she comes to late to take advantage of this, not to mention how difficult leveling up Curates already is. However, in Chapter 24 she has one huge element that makes her useful: she has exclusive use of the Aum staff, which can be used once to resurrect a character that has died. This is immensely useful if you have lost one of your units; otherwise, Elice doesn't offer much other curates don't, though she has enough weapon level to use every staff but Fortify and Barrier, and can buff out a roster for Chapter 25.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Elice joins in the very last chapter of the game, and as such contributes almost nothing over the course of the game. She will likely only have at most a few turns to contribute, so her usefulness will be very limited. She comes with a Fortify, which can restore 15 HP to every unit, and since it comes with 12 uses and this is the only time it can be used, you should feel free to have her spam it each turn. Other than that, she is incapable of dealing damage to Medeus since he is immune to tomes, and you would have to trade her a tome for her to use them. The only thing she can damage is the Earth Dragon reinforcements, but there is no reason to do this since the Binding Shield gets rid of them at the start of each turn. She can help heal your units while you deal with Medeus in the last chapter, but for obvious reasons she doesn't contribute for practically any other reason.

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon

Role

In Shadow Dragon, Elice stays behind in the Altean Castle as it is being captured by Dolhr. She is captured but Gharnef does not kill her; he wants her to use the Aum Staff, a staff that brings the dead back to life. When Marth retakes the castle, he rescues her and she joins him as a cleric.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

The only thing that matters about Elice is her A staff rank. Her base stats are terrible and ensure that she should never see combat, especially near the end of the game. Her primary purpose is to use the Aum staff to revive any unit that has died throughout the game. She is by far the most convenient Aum user, since Maria starts with a low staff rank, and Caeda and Minerva are much better off staying Dracoknights. In addition to Aum, she is able to use Physic, Recover, Warp, and Fortify, letting her serve as a great support unit for the final few maps. Promoting her gives her an extra point of Movement, and since any units the player is still using should be promoted by now, there is virtually no cost to this if there's an extra Master Seal in the convoy.

Analysis

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Elice is effectively a non-unit: she is primarily there for story purposes, and you do not even have to recruit her to progress. Failure to do so, however, mandates her death, be it by the player or Medeus using her as a sacrifice.

That being said, despite her atrocious stats, she is not completely useless. While her healing output with magic-scaling staves is genuinely horrible, she can still use Recover to fully heal an ally with her action each turn, which can easily be brought to her by putting it in Merric's inventory and trading it over after Merric recruits her. Additionally, between herself and Nyna, the two can heal everyone else for 28 HP total with two Fortify casts, which can potentially free up other staff users' actions by providing some healing whenever it is needed. On anything lower than Lunatic, she can also use the Aum if things go wrong, at the very least freeing up another, potentially better trained, Aum user's action.

Fire Emblem Heroes

Role

Elice is one of the characters added to the game in the Askr and Embla update, and became available for summoning by players on November 18, 2022. Only one variation of Elice is currently available in Heroes, based on her Mystery of the Emblem incarnation; she is notably the first character introduced into Heroes to be the secondary character in a Duo Unit prior to becoming playable in their own right, having been the non-playable half of the Duo Unit Marth: Royal Altean Duo.

Other appearances

Anime

Elice as she appears in the anime.

Elice has a secondary role in the Fire Emblem anime adaptation, here referred as Elise. The OVA goes in a bit different plot than in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon game when it comes about her methods about helping Marth escape.

Elice appears in the intro of the first episode escaping with Marth and Jagen under the inminent falling Altea castle. They enter a room where stairs lead to an escape point only to find them destroyed and find themselves trapped. As the Dohlr troops try breaking the door, Elice gives her tiara to Marth for the "good luck". As Marth and Jagen unsheathe their weapons readying to fight, Elice decides to use her Warp staff to help Marth and Jagen to escape the Altean castle, despite Marth's refusal to leave her.

Elice is the princess of Altea. She's gentle, graceful, and wishes for peace more than anything else! When the Kingdom of Altea was about to fall to a joint invasion by the Dolhr Empire and the Kingdom of Gra, Elice instructed her younger brother to escape—allowing herself to be taken captive in his place. Elice spent a long time in imprisonment. Eventually, though, she was freed by a grown-up Marth and his friend, Merric! Once rescued, Elice supported Marth and his allies with her gentle, caring spirit and her magical powers. I hope she can work her magic with the Order of Heroes too!
