Appearance(s)

Frost (フロスト) is a Macedonian priest who, in the early days of the War of Shadows, was blackmailed into assisting Ruben's band of Macedonian deserters, but allied with Minerva in her effort to subdue them when he realized she was present. Years later, he appeared before Marth as he travelled to Pales at the height of the War of Heroes, joining his forces.

Analysis

This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience.

Frost joins very late into the game with poor base stats, which can easily get him killed if he ever enters combat, especially on higher difficulties. He can sometimes avoid getting doubled, but it should not be relied upon. Frost's primary claim to fame is his base staff rank at C, which allows him to use Physic and Warp, two very good utility staves. He even joins with a Physic, which is quite convenient. Frost's tome rank at D is largely inconsequential, since his combat is extremely subpar.

Magic does not make a large difference for healing in New Mystery of the Emblem, because of the strict healing formula and the fact Physic and Warp have infinite range. Thanks to that, Frost can still be a useful unit. While his bases are very poor and he is never going to be any good at combat, he is still a C rank staff user with no investment, which allows him to support your other units without ever having to fight.

Trivia

  • In Fire Emblem: Archanea Saga, Frost shares his portrait with Brzak, completely unmodified. This is the only occasion in which a playable character and a boss character have used the same portrait in the same game.
  • Frost finished in last place of the 692 characters from across the Fire Emblem series featured in the third Choose Your Legends poll for Fire Emblem Heroes, with a total of 11 votes.
  • Frost is the only playable character in New Mystery of the Emblem to use gray-haired battle animations; other characters such as Jagen and Lorenz use the grey-haired sprites in Shadow Dragon, but none of those characters are playable in New Mystery of the Emblem.
