Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Linde is the first mage to join the player's party in Book 2, joining after finishing Chapter 2. She is a very effective offensive unit capable of easily one-round-KOing most enemies with moderate amounts of investment that gets useful staff utility when promoted with the Bishop's Ring, an item which can be obtained as early as Chapter 5 via its secret shop. Two of the main factors that make Linde an effective mage are the tomes she comes with: Aura and Nosferatu. Her high speed growth is key in allowing Linde to double with these tomes considering that they are relatively heavy, though enemies are generally very slow, which makes the benchmarks easy to reach. At base she has an attack speed of 2 with Aura, which means that she is only one point of speed away from doubling enemies with 0 AS (which is one of the most important AS benchmarks in the game), using its massive 20 might to double bulky enemies such as the promoted Generals in Chapter 8, ORKOing them, and dragons such as the Wyverns and Fire and Ice Dragons that are prominent in Chapters 11 to 14. Additionally, she also has access to tomes such as Shaver, Blizzard, and Elfire (the latter two can be bought in the Chapter 9 vendor) which act as effective weaponry against the aforementioned dragons; Elfire in particular has an effective might of 27 against Ice Dragons, which is enough to ORKO them outright.
Nosferatu is also an interesting option for Linde since it is able to deal damage to the enemies while healing off the damage she takes from them, making up for her paltry durability. Nosferatu is one of the stronger tomes in the game in terms of might, but has a weight of 10, which imposes much higher speed benchmarks compared to Aura, and limits her maximum AS to 10 while wielding it. She needs to level up her speed five times before being able to double the slowest of enemies with it, inhibiting its usefulness in the early stages of of the game. However, later in the game and with consistent use, Linde should have enough speed to double many enemy types with it, such as Paladins, Horsemen, and Generals which are featured in chapters such as 15, 18, and 19. Nosferatu is a very safe way to deal with large enemy groups in the late game, and she can use it with infinite durability while wielding the Starsphere. This strategy is at its most effective when Linde can actually ORKO her targets, however, and Linde will struggle to ORKO the 6-resistance Paladins due to her 2 base strength and 20% growth; it is advisable to give her Astral Shards that boost her strength (Leo, Gemini, Scorpio) or the Power Ring found in Chapter 11 if the player wishes to make heavy use of Nosferatu. Another good aspect of Linde is her good weapon level—9 base and 70% growth—which, when combined with her ability to get experience via her good combat, makes her likely to be the first magic unit to reach the required 20 weapon level to use the powerful Anew staff. Since her strength is not the best, she may rely on her Aura tome; fortunately, the Hammerne is obtained very early in Chapter 5 which gives the player the option to repair Aura, allowing Linde to spam it more liberally.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Linde joins in chapter 11 as a level 1 mage. As such her bases are atrocious for this part of the game and she'll likely be one shot by every enemy in said chapter. Her growths in every area besides magic and luck are rather unimpressive as well. Luckily she comes with the Aura tome and as you're unlikely to have a female mage with a B rank in tomes for most of the game Linde has exclusive access to the Aura tome for a long time. The Aura tome not only has great might it also targets resistance which is low for most enemies in Shadow Dragon. However, at some point the Aura tome will run out and won't be used again until you get the Hammerne staff near the end of the game. She also comes with a D in tomes so she won't be able to use some of the more powerful tomes in the meantime without a fair bit of investment. Ultimately, since Linde has little uses besides Aura nuking it's hard to call her anything else besides a mediocre unit.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Great availability, one of the higher personal speed growths in the game, and instant access to the Aura and Nosferatu tomes make Linde a good option for an offensive magic unit in New Mystery of the Emblem. While the fact that enemies have received substantial boosts to their speed and power gives Linde a harder time compared to her Book 2 incarnation, she still manages to have good uses both short-term and long-term. Enemies deal significant damage in Maniac and Lunatic, incentivizing attacking them at range; with Aura, Linde can deal over 20 damage at 2-range, helping minimize damage received by herself and her allies, and allows her to easily finish off enemies when looking for opportunities to get experience. Her offensive capabilities get a huge boost when she reaches the speed benchmarks to double, allowing her to help out against enemies such as Ice Dragons, which she can consistently one-round-KO with Aura even in the higher difficulty modes, something which generally requires the use of effective weaponry. Later in the game, she can reclass into a Swordmaster when required to get a speed cap of 30 (compared to the cap of 25 that the Sage class has) while maintaining access to ranged magic damage using Levin Swords, all while having 8 movement. Aside from Swordmaster, Linde can also make use of the Bishop and Cleric classes; Bishop grants Linde a higher staff rank at the cost of 2 points of magic from Sage, allowing earlier access to Physic and other utility staves, while Cleric allows Linde to contribute her magic through staves and build up her staff rank in maps where the player deems her to be unable to contribute much as a mage. Nosferatu is another useful asset; it is very useful in breaking enemy formations provided that she has a sufficient combination of magic, HP and speed.
Linde is not without some jarring weaknesses, however. She has extremely low base defense, and the mage class reduces it to a measly 5% growth, and her below-average HP limits her to being a glass canon. In Lunatic, enemies wield silver weapons from Chapter 1, which allows them to OHKO her at base; in Maniac she can survive an attack from most enemies due to them wielding steel weapons instead. While the +6 HP bonus that she gets when promoting into a Sage is helpful, she basically demands an Angelic Robe to perform well in the higher difficulty modes since enemies wield forged silver weapons later on anyways. Her magic is also a bit shaky, with a relatively low base of 4 and fairly average personal growth of 10% (for a total of 40% growth as a Mage and 30% as a Sage or Bishop), which makes her reliant on good level ups. This weakness can be mitigated with magic-boosting star shards (Capricorn, Gemini, Aquarius) that can grant a combined total bonus of +4 in magic while they are available. Additionally, the player may gain up to 3 Spirit Dusts during the game, which may be best used on a single magic unit instead of distributed among many magic users. Since Swordmaster lowers magic by 4 when reclassing from Sage, these Spirit Dusts are good for making the "Levin Sage" a strong option, and she can perform the role well if she is being used as the player's main offensive magic unit. When taking the expanded base shop from clearing Lunatic mode into account, access to early stat boosters in the base shop is very convenient for her, since it allows the player to give her an early Angelic Robe or Spirit Dust if the player is willing to make the investment.

Fire Emblem Warriors
Role
Linde appears as a playable character in Fire Emblem Warriors through the game's Shadow Dragon downloadable content pack. As a downloadable content character that does not appear in the base game as an NPC, she has no presence in the main story; her History Mode map, Knorda Market, does feature her in a similar role to the original chapter from Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and Shadow Dragon. During said History Mode map she disguises herself as a boy and ends up in the possession of a slave trader; she is rescued by the player. She is immediately playable upon purchase of the Shadow Dragon pack regardless of the events presented in the Knorda Market map.
