Ragnell (ラグネル, Raguneru) is a unique sword in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn and the counterpart to the blade Alondite. It is used by Ike in both games and was also used along with Alondite by the beorc heroine Altina. It is a large, two-handed sword with a golden blade and black hilt, in which tiny aqua green jewels are embedded. It is a powerful sword, and one of the strongest weapons in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn.
In Path of Radiance, Ragnell is obtained by Ike in Chapter 7, but he does not actually use it until Chapter 27, when he begins his battle with the Black Knight. In addition to providing +5 to Ike's defense stat, Ragnell also possesses the ability to fire extremely fast shockwaves, thus giving it a range of two. It can also nullify enemy crit rates. At the end of the game, Ike returns the blade to Sanaki, who declares it a Begnion national treasure.
In Radiant Dawn, Sanaki gives Ragnell to Ike once again after she names him supreme commander of the combined armies of Crimea, Begnion, Gallia, and Phoenicis. As in Path of Radiance, the blade has a range of two and gives Ike a defense boost, but the ability to nullify crit rates was removed. The weapon's stats, however, are the same.
