— Veyona

Veyona (Japanese: ベヨナ Bejona) is a Begnion army commander who fought in the war between the Laguz Alliance and Begnion. Early in the war he was tasked with the defense of the Begnion supply train at the Ribahn River, where several Begnion senators were camping. When this camp was attacked by Ike and the Greil Mercenaries to try and force Zelgius to retreat from the front lines, Veyona led the defense of the camp.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Role

Veyona is the boss of Part III, Chapter 3 and acts as the commander of the Imperial Army units in this chapter. His defeat is optional and he can be easily ignored, depending on how the player moves to burn the supplies.

Personality

Veyona has very little respect for the senators he serves, seeing them as self-absorbed snobs,[1] but believes that as a soldier in their service he has a duty to follow their orders anyway.[2] Like most Begnion soldiers he had an extremely high respect for General Zelgius, his superior officer, and did not wish to let him down even if he would prefer to see the senators suffer.[3]

Quotes

Battle quotes

Protect the supplies, men! If anything is ruined, the senators will have our hides! We cannot let this camp fall into chaos! For the honor of General Zelgius, protect the stores!
— Veyona, as the boss of Part III, Chapter 3 in Radiant Dawn.
Veyona: The laguz assault was a decoy, and your real objective was this camp? You're more clever than I expected. This isn't the strategy of the laguz. It must have been planned by the beorc.
Ike: Our objective is only to burn these supplies. Step aside and I’ll spare your life.
Veyona: You know I can't do that. Our masters may be fools, but we are their soldiers nonetheless. Our duty is to carry out orders from our masters.
Ike: I thought you'd say that. But I have a duty as well.

— Veyona, when fighting Ike in Part III, Chapter 3 of Radiant Dawn.

Death quotes

Protect the supplies... Stay... calm...
— Veyona, as the boss of Part III, Chapter 3 in Radiant Dawn.
