Lotz (Japanese: ロッツ Lotz) is a Phoenicisian attendant in the service of King Tibarn.

Biography

Lotz was relatively young and new to Tibarn's service, having at least not being present when Reyson first came to Phoenicis following the Serenes Massacre.[1] During the Mad King's War, Lotz conveyed a letter from Reyson to Tibarn which requested Phoenicisian support, so Tibarn left Lotz in charge of taking care of Leanne and Lorazieh while he paid a visit to Gallia, instructing him to help Leanne pack to depart as well. While assisting her with packing her things, however, the Black Knight infiltrated Phoenicis Castle, mortally wounded Lotz, and abducted Leanne. Tibarn soon returned and found Lotz, who told him that a knight in black armor had taken Leanne. Lotz then died from his wounds.

Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance

Role

Lotz appears only in the opening cutscene of Chapter 25.

Personality

Lotz is youthful and a bit naive, but is a loyal servant. Described by Tibarn as a "scamp", he read the letter from Reyson before Tibarn or Leanne could, and when he accidentally revealed he had done so he nervously tried to downplay how much he had read, to Tibarn's amusement.[1] He could not speak the ancient language at all, and while he was helping Leanne - who spoke only the ancient language - to pack, he tried shouting at her to ask her what she meant, much to Leanne's amusement.[2]

Tibarn: Hm? Yes. Well, some of it, at least. Oh, you weren't around when Reyson first got here, were you, Lotz? When he arrived, he was just like this. You'd never know it by how fluently he speaks our modern tongue, would you?
Lotz: Now that you mention it, he does use some funny words when he gets angry. But, the letter that just arrived is written in standard script, isn't it?
Tibarn: Over these twenty years, he's gained total mastery of...You...you read the letter, didn't you?!
Lotz: N-no, I just caught a glimpse of it in your hand. That's all. I'm sorry! Er...Your Majesty...

Lotz: Um, I... I don't have any idea what you're trying to say. Maybe I should talk louder...
Leanne: (Tee hee! You’re not very smart! I want you to take this… and put it in here.)
Lotz: Um, DO YOU WANT ME... TO PUT THIS...IN THAT BAG??
    Leanne: (Yes, yes.)
Lotz: Got it! In it goes! I'm getting the hang of this. I'M PUTTING IT IN THE BAG!
