Lugh (Japanese: ルゥ Lugh) is a playable character in FE6. He first appears in Chapter 3. | |||
He comes from an orphanage in Araphen, where he grew up with his twin brother Raigh and Chad, who became his best friend. He is the son of Nino and potentially either Erk, Jaffar, or an unspecified spouse of Nino's. | |||
In FE13, Lugh returns as a character playable through SpotPass, and he also makes an appearance in some of the DLC chapters. | |||

===Role=== | |||
Lugh is a Lycian child who lost his parents at the age of four. He and his twin brother ended up in an orphanage in Araphen, where they met Chad. Lugh struck up a fast friendship with him. At some point before the game's events, Lugh discovered he could use magic. Lugh was too shocked to do anything other than protecting the younger children, and so, he did not realized Chad was missing until it was too late. | |||
After making sure the children are safe under the Elimine Church's protection, Lugh decides to follow Chad and join him in his quest for revenge. When he finally catches up with his friend, Chad tries to send him back with the others, but Lugh absolutely refuses. Some protests later, Chad accepts his company, and they join Roy's army for the rest of the war. | |||
In the Western Isles, Lugh finally finds his missing brother, and after some prodding, he manages to convince Raigh to join the Lycian Army. | |||
Once Bern is defeated and the war is over, Lugh founds a magic school for orphans in the same place where the orphanage was. Over the years, many of the students from his school would become famous and powerful sages. | |||

===Analysis=== | |||
analysis | |||
Lugh is a level 1 mage who joins very early. His stats are low across the board, and it will take a while before his growths will make a significant change in this. With the Fire tome's high accuracy, and most enemies having lower Resistance than Defense, he can deal reliable chip damage early on. This is a valuable niche in Hard Mode especially, where the enemies are more difficult to kill. Having 1-2 range, he can avoid counterattacks from enemies limited to 1-range or 2-range. His early availability gives him plenty of opportunities to chip enemies and gain exp. | |||
Lugh's main problem is his durability. He cannot take hits on enemy phase, especially in Hard Mode. Against most enemies, he will typically only survive a single round of combat, with a handful of enemies being able to one-round him. His low defensive growths also means he likely will not become that much more durable. As such, he will need to stay out of enemy range and contribute on player phase. | |||
If trained to promotion, he will gain a decent boost to his combat, with +4 magic and a bit of durability, along with E-Rank staves for some minor support capability. The weapon level boost will also put him at or near the rank needed for tomes like Aircalibur, which is useful against powerful enemy wyverns, and Bolting, which lets him stay at a safe distance while attacking. However, Guiding Rings are rare items in The Binding Blade, and staff users will also want them to boost their staff rank. | |||
While his 50% Speed growth is decent, his base and promotion bonus are low, meaning it will take a lot of time and training for him to reach doubling thresholds for tougher enemies, and if he ends up unlucky or falls behind he can struggle to help out against them. Mid-game, There are plenty of slow enemies in the Western Isles that he can double if trained, but cavaliers and mercenaries will be tougher for him. Late-game, he can fight unpromoted enemies with ease, but against promoted enemies he will lack the durability for enemy phase combat. He also may not have the speed to deal good damage on player phase, but can compensate with effective damage from Aircalibur or Forblaze. | |||

==Personality== | |||
Lugh is a kind and optimistic child. He likes to help the other members of the army as much as possible, even if it is just by running errands or sharing food. “ | I'm sorry for lying... But I've chosen not to run away anymore. | ” | — Lugh when deciding to go after Chad. |
---|
Lugh (Japanese: ルゥ Lugh) is a playable character in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. He first appears in Chapter 3.
He comes from an orphanage in Araphen, where he grew up with his twin brother Raigh and Chad, who became his best friend. He is the son of Nino and potentially either Erk, Jaffar, or an unspecified spouse of Nino's.
In Fire Emblem Awakening, Lugh returns as a character playable through SpotPass, and he also makes an appearance in some of the DLC chapters.
Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
Role
Lugh is a Lycian child who lost his parents at the age of four. He and his twin brother ended up in an orphanage in Araphen, where they met Chad. Lugh struck up a fast friendship with him. At some point before the game's events, Lugh discovered he could use magic.[1]
Lugh's life changed completely when Bern attacked Araphen Castle. The orphanage where he lived was destroyed, and the father who cared for them was killed for trying to defend their small garden.[2] Lugh was too shocked to do anything other than protecting the younger children, and so, he did not realized Chad was missing until it was too late.

Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Fire Emblem Awakening
Role
Lugh is playable as a SpotPass character, released in the The Binding Blade character set. He is also present as an enemy in the second and third installments of the Smash Brethren DLC series, as well as an ally in Smash Brethren 1.

Personality
Lugh is a kind and optimistic child. He likes to help the other members of the army as much as possible, even if it is just by running errands or sharing food. He also tries his best to keep people in good spirits. Whenever one of his comrades is in danger, he does not hesitate to leave what he is doing and go to help them.[3] He becomes anxious at the mere idea of seeing them hurt[4] or being separated from them;[5] this could be a result of the traumatic experiences he went through in Araphen.
Family is very important for Lugh, and it is something that goes beyond blood bonds, as he considers Chad to be his brother.[6] He was truly worried about Raigh's sudden disappearance, feeling he was a burden to his brother.[7] Although he doubts his own worth in battle, he keeps fighting for what he believes in, stating he does not want to just be protected.[8] He tends to think the best of people,[9] but seems to have trouble understanding others' indirect actions or intentions.[10]
