Balmunc (バルムンク Barumunku) is the sword once wielded by Odo of the Twelve Crusaders, bestowed upon him at the Miracle of Darna after his blood-bond with a dragon. The blade is the property of Odo's descendants, the royal family of Isaac, and can only be wielded by those in possession of major Odo Holy Blood.
In Isaac's war with Grandbell, upon hearing of his father Mananan's cruel death at the hands of the Grandbell forces, Crown Prince Mariccle set out with the Balmunc to confront his father's killers, but was himself killed in battle. The Balmunc was taken and eventually ended up placed within the Yied Shrine, guarded by the Lopt Sect occupants of the shrine, and remained there for two decades.
Eventually, Mariccle's son Shanan comes to hear rumours of the blade's entombment at the Shrine and sets out to attempt to procure it. He is beaten to it, however, by the thief Patty, who had decided to rob the Shrine of her own accord. As the two flee from the pursuing Lopt Sect forces, Patty eagerly hands the Balmunc over to Shanan upon learning who he is, and Shanan wields it for the rest of the liberation war under Seliph.
Millennia later, the blade comes into the possession of the Gimle Cult, and is given to its reincarnation of the Dark Warlord Neun. By this point, Balmunc is no longer sealed to the Odo bloodline and is capable of being used by any sword-wielder of reasonable skill.
