Delthea (Japanese: デューテ Dyute) is a mage appearing in Fire Emblem Gaiden and its 3DS remake. She is Luthier's younger sister and very skilled in magic.
Fire Emblem Gaiden
Role
Delthea is a mage who was kidnapped by Rigellian forces. She was brainwashed by Tatarrah so she would follow his commands and fight for Rigel. Alm meets her older brother, Luthier, and saves Delthea from her brainwashing by killing Tatarrah. Delthea is thankful and joins Alm and Luthier in their fight against Rigel.

If the character's stats are higher than their promoted class' base stats, they will not receive any bonus; however, if all stats are higher, then they will receive +1 to HP.

Analysis

Delthea joins near the end of Act 3 on Alm's route, with low bases and high growth rates, making her a part of the "Est archetype". One of Delthea's main weaknesses is her combination of low defense and HP, making it very easy for her to get OHKO'd by stronger enemies at base. Delthea's low HP combined with the HP-cost of her base spells, namely Aura, which takes away a large amount of her already low HP, opens her up to getting easily OHKO'd on the following enemy phase. Delthea does join with a very high base resistance, especially for Shadows of Valentia standards, making her useful for baiting enemy magic users, especially Witches, but her low HP prevents her from engaging a large number of enemies without healing support from Silque or Cleric Faye. While Delthea does have a spell list featuring many high might, high hit rate spells, this boon comes at the expense of accessibility and a lack of 3-range offensive options. Delthea needs to wait until level 11 to get Seraphim, that's 8 whole levels, which she is unlikely to get without grinding, and Ragnarok requires an additional 7 levels. Until she receives a rather large amount of investment, Delthea is restricted to the generic Fire and high HP-cost Aura, and due to low base stats, is unlikely to double with either. Moreover, Delthea is also hampered by the low movement of mages, a measly 4 movement, meaning that unless she is warped or given the Mage Ring she will struggle to see any combat.
The most condemning aspect of Delthea is that she is simply unnecessary, as the other Mages recruited in Alm's route are sufficient and likely already better than Delthea when she joins. If you really want a Seraphim-user on Alm's route, a promoted Silque or promoted Cleric Faye will suffice as they gain it upon promotion into Saint, and are likely far closer to promotion than Delthea is to level 11. Moreover, Tatiana has Seraphim and healing utility at base and joins in the next act. Additionally, Luthier, Kliff, and Tobin have been available longer and have spell lists which all feature 3-range offense options and Excalibur. Sure, Delthea can reliably deal with enemies with low resistance and speed, particularly Knights and Barons, but every other magic user can also do so all while requiring far less investment. Delthea's one saving grace is her great growths. Typically, offensively-oriented units in Shadows of Valentia either have a great growth in attack or speed and most magic-users available up until this point have rather average growths; however, Delthea has great growths in both attack and speed; thus, assuming equal investment across the board, Delthea will end up as the most offensively potent Mage on Alm's route, though this strength will likely only be relevant if you plan on tackling the post-game Act 6 as the other mages will suffice in the main game. Overall, Delthea is an incredibly weak unit without investment, however if the player does train her up, she can become a great asset to the army, though it's hard to train her up on faster playthroughs and her contributions can be replicated by other units that require less time and resources to be useful.
Fire Emblem Heroes
Role
There are two different variations of Delthea available to Heroes, at least one of which is tied to her storyline appearance in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. The normal variation of Delthea is one of the characters added to the game in the Bitter Enemies update, and became available for summoning by players on July 13, 2017. A corrupted variation of Delthea, based on her brainwashing by Tatarrah in Act 3, was added to the game in the A Home Unknown update and made available to players in the thirty-first Grand Hero Battle, which initially ran from May 12, 2019 through May 20, 2019.

Personality and character
Delthea is confident without fail and has faith in her natural talents. She is easygoing, but lazy, and likes to show off in battle.[2] Delthea is blunt and dislikes keeping secrets, but is also easy to manipulate.[3] Her brother Luthier is concerned about how laid-back she is, thinking she should be more serious about developing her magical abilities; however, whenever he voices this concern, Delthea dismisses it. She hates being criticized, because she thinks she is better than everyone else and whoever criticizes her seeks to put her down.[4] In her opinion, her natural talent is a gift she should be allowed to flaunt, and nobody has the right to complain that she is superior to others.
Delthea is defined by her stubbornness and insistence on getting her way. She is childish in many ways, befitting her young age, and can be quite careless as well. Her confidence, honesty, immaturity, and magical potential combined could make her a danger to others, which is exploited by Tatarrah when he brainwashes her to fight against Alm's party. Delthea does not like to admit it, but she is still inexperienced.
Despite her confidence and propensity for showcasing her magical abilities, Delthea is unwilling to turn developing her talents into her life's purpose.[5] Despite being born in a village, she would prefer to live in a city and marry someone there.[6]
Luthier pressures Delthea to excel as a mage, but her desires stand in conflict with that, making Delthea argue with him. She seldom says nice things about Luthier, both to him directly and to others, showing that she has many problems with how he treats her. Delthea is fond of Clive, noting that he is "cultured" and "dashing," believing him to be the opposite of her brother. Despite her young age, she is interested in people outside of her village, and would like to change her environment. Being with Luthier and only ever doing magic-related things wears her out, hence her desire to know more about what she is unfamiliar with.[7] While Delthea does not hate her brother, she wants to achieve more and change things in her life; she dislikes it when she is limited in any way.[8]
