Sound and music

There exists an extensive collection of unused music in the game's sound/strm directory; out of the game's 172 music files, at least 63 are unused. Some of it is a series of alternate takes on songs which made it into the finished game, others are touched-up versions of songs from Path of Radiance, and a small few are entirely original compositions.

fe10_bgm_mapextra_32k.brstm
Two versions of an arrangement of Alm's near-victory map theme from Fire Emblem Gaiden. There is very little difference between the two. These suggest that Trial Maps were planned at some stage in development, judging from both its name and the tradition of reusing songs from older Fire Emblem games in Trial Map mode. 1
