Analysis
This character analysis section may not be accurate to every player's experience. |
Sara joins late, regardless of which route the player chooses. She starts at a low level with low bases but excellent growths; she can reliably cap important stats such as magic, skill, and speed with ease. Sara is also one of the few characters to have 5 Action stars, meaning she will get a second turn 25% of the time after acting; this effect allows her to use staves twice per turn when it activates, but is not reliable.
Sara comes with a powerful combination of skills: Wrath guarantees her a crit on a counterattack, Paragon makes her level up much quicker, and Miracle increases her chances of surviving lethal blows. Along with the stat bonuses from the Sage promotion, Sara gains Adept, making her a very potent combat unit, though a relatively frail one.
Sara joins with E rank in all forms of magic except light magic, in which she has a D rank, but with a B rank in staves. On promotion, Sara will gain an A rank in staves, incentivizing promoting her as soon as she can be; Sara will, on average, cap her relevant stats less than ten levels after promoting, and promotion gives her far better utility for the rest of the game than she would have otherwise. With an A rank in staves, she will gain access to powerful staves, such as Warp, Rewarp, and Rescue, along with being the only user of the Kia staff, which allows the player to reverse Eyvel's petrification in Chapter 24x. She is a useful healer in the endgame chapters, where staves are at their most beneficial, and her high magic allows her to dodge the effects of the status staves used in those chapters.
Sara has very low HP and defense; while she does have high avoidance and Miracle, both are inherently random, and Sara will likely die should she be made to rely upon her bulk. In order to increase her durability, she may be given the Dáinn and Hezul Scrolls; alternately, the Bragi Scroll will boost Sara's luck growth, increasing her avoid and the activation rate of Miracle.
