This is a bit of a breather mission.  If you're trying to train up recent low-level recruits like Sothe, Astrid, Makalov, or Tormod, it's a comparatively safe place to do so. The objective on this map is pretty clear: loop around toward the boss room, and recruit Devdan with either a sufficiently innocent-looking child soldier or with Soren.
This is relatively less difficult than others, allowing for low-leveled units such as Astrid or Tormod to be given experience with little risk. Devdan can be recruited by talking with any of the young characters—Mist, Rolf, Sothe, or Tormod—or with Soren.

The mages in the throne room with Kimaarsi won't move, so passing through is safer than it might look.  However, note that if you open the top-right treasure room, there's a Halberdier with a Killer Lance waiting - it's suggested you have a sufficiently tanky unit ready after opening the door like Kieran or Gatrie that can safely absorb even a critical hit from him.

Don't panic too much about the thief in the upper left treasure chamber - he'll head toward the central treasure room where you can kill him at your leisure rather than immediately retreat.  You can also use a sufficiently speedy thief of your own to steal an item back if a thief manages to hold 2 treasures at once.
The mages in the throne room with Kimaarsi do not move. There is a Halberdier with a Killer Lance near the chest in the top-right room; a unit like Kieran or Gatrie with good defensehow much? can safely lure him out of the room.

The Thief in the upper-left treasure room will move toward the central treasure room—where he can be intercepted—rather than immediately retreat. A Thief with sufficient speedhow much? can steal an item if he opens two chests.

Strategy

This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody.

This is relatively less difficult than others, allowing for low-leveled units such as Astrid or Tormod to be given experience with little risk. Devdan can be recruited by talking with any of the young characters—Mist, Rolf, Sothe, or Tormod—or with Soren.

The mages in the throne room with Kimaarsi do not move. There is a Halberdier with a Killer Lance near the chest in the top-right room; a unit like Kieran or Gatrie with good defense[how much?] can safely lure him out of the room.

The Thief in the upper-left treasure room will move toward the central treasure room—where he can be intercepted—rather than immediately retreat. A Thief with sufficient speed[how much?] can steal an item if he opens two chests.
