If cheated into the game, it has a unique map sprite, but uses the Cavalier's sprite in battle. As it is a dragon class, it may have been intended to be usable as a manakete transformation; however, no transformation stone that would allow for such a transformation survives in the game's code, though a leftover name string in the game's debug menu, the (Japanese: かいりゅうせき Sea Dragonstone),<ref>{{Cite web| quote= Evidently, this slot was once intended for a matching dragonstone for the unused ocean dragon class. ==== Arena Data ====
In Mystery of the Emblem, Enemies in the arena are loaded from a pre-set list based on a character's class. Almost all unplayable classes like Pirate, have no pre-set opponents in the arena and if hacked to be playable, will face a Enemy Lord as it has the class value of 00 within the game's data. The exception is the Soldier class, which has a full list of opponents within the game's data.

ID Portrait Notes
39 Portrait unused 01 fe03.png Transparent portrait, located between the generic Archer portrait and Merach's portrait. Likely a placeholder intended for Bentheon. Because of how portraits and the menu work, the transparency results in a "hole" in the menu and the map can be seen through it.
3F Portrait khozen fe03.png Duplicate of Khozen's portrait, located between Kannival and Zharov's portraits. Corresponds to Mannu in the unit data.
4A Portrait unused 01 fe03.png Transparent portrait, located between Xemcel and Camus's portraits. Corresponds to Orridyon in the unit data. Because of how portraits and the menu work, the transparency results in a "hole" in the menu and the map can be seen through it.
54 Portrait unused 02 fe03.png A solid color, located between the generic Mercenary and Hero portraits.

Characters

This section has been marked as a stub. Please help improve the page by adding information.

Characters from Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light who didn’t return, have unused data but no portraits.

Classes are not assigned in the character data and are instead assigned when loading the units onto the map for the first time, so the base stats are before class bases are added (note that HP and weapon level ignore class bases).

Bosses and enemies

Strings remain for bosses who were cut from this game in the transition from Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light; additionally, the unused boss "Wyler" from that game is still present. The equivalent statistical data is repurposed for other uses in the game.

The "Raman Soldier" enemy from the original game's Manakete Princess is unused in this game, with instances of said unit being replaced with "Raman Thief" and "Dolhr Soldier"; this was reverted in Shadow Dragon.

Classes

Dark Knight

Main article: Dark Knight (Mystery of the Emblem)

The class's intended purpose is unknown, but it is speculated that it may have been implemented as a personal class for Camus, who ended up being a Paladin in the finished product (as well as in his other Archanean appearances). If the class was indeed intended for Camus, it is unknown if it would have been used exclusively in his normal persona in Book 1, or if he would have also used it in his Sirius persona in Book 2.

If cheated into the game, it has a unique map sprite, but uses the Cavalier's sprite in battle. Its non-moving map sprite will not display on most maps, the first book's fifth chapter being an example of one in which it does display. The Dark Knight cannot dismount, so if it is indoors, it cannot move.

Sprites

Sea Dragon

Main article: Sea Dragon

Many of its map animations are still in the game, though only one frame of its idle animation remains. Its moving map sprite resembles a sea serpent in appearance, while its battle sprite is the same as a Fire Dragon. It can move freely in seas, similarly to Pirates.

As it is a dragon class, it may have been intended to be usable as a manakete transformation; however, no transformation stone that would allow for such a transformation survives in the game's code, though a leftover name string in the game's debug menu, the (Japanese: かいりゅうせき Sea Dragonstone),[1] suggests there was one in development at some point. No breath weapon, existing or otherwise, is known to be associated with the class. However, it can use any breath that is cheated into its inventory.

Arena Data

In Mystery of the Emblem, Enemies in the arena are loaded from a pre-set list based on a character's class. Almost all unplayable classes like Pirate, have no pre-set opponents in the arena and if hacked to be playable, will face a Enemy Lord as it has the class value of 00 within the game's data. The exception is the Soldier class, which has a full list of opponents within the game's data.
