Whitewinged Order

“ | There are no half-Whitewings or almost- Whitewings. You're one of us because you're every bit as good as us. | ” | — Palla, to Est |

The Whitewings (白騎士団 White Knights) are an order of knights in the service of Macedon, led by its Princess Minerva and acting as a either a counterpart to or a subdivision of the Dragoons led by King Michalis. The unit is comprised of Minerva herself and a trio of Macedonian knight sisters: Palla, Catria and Est. Like the Dragoons, it is an airborne military unit; all of its members ride flying mounts, mainly the pegasi from which the order derives its name.
Overview
In the War of Shadows, the Whitewings were forced to comply with the whims of Michalis in alliance with Dolhr, with Minerva's younger sister Maria held hostage in Castle Deil. During this time, they formed a temporary alliance with Hardin and his Aurelian knights - ostensibly their enemy - in suppressing a dangerous insurrection by the Macedonian deserter Ruben. Near the war's end, when Marth, Nyna and Hardin's liberation army was beginning to gain momentum, the Whitewings were deployed to Lefcandith Valley to obstruct their progress toward the Archanean capital, but pulled out when Minerva refused to comply with Harmein's questionable tactics.
Catria was later sent to Marth in Pyrathi to request assistance in freeing Maria, and so Marth travelled to Castle Deil and successfully did so. Minerva then joined with Marth's forces, but by this point the rest of the order had been scattered, split up to different areas by Dolhr out of fear of them turning coat. The Whitewings were later deployed to Gra to assist in its defense from Marth's impending army, much to the displeasure of King Jiol, and there Catria and Palla joined Marth's army. Est, however, had taken off in pursuit of the Mercurius, having heard of it falling into the hands of Grust; she successfully retrieved it and took it to Marth's army.
During the three years after the War, Est was captured by the pirate Geyse and taken away to Valentia. Catria and Palla pursued her there and, in order to better facilitate finding her, allied with Celica and her resistance army. The army eventually reached Geyse's fortress in the eastern Zofian desert, where Est was found and released from captivity. The three sisters continued to serve with Celica and Alm until the war's end, whereupon they departed for home. At some point after this, Est married Abel, a former Altean knight, retired from the Whitewings and settled down with him in Altea.
At the onset of Rucke's coup against Minerva, Catria and Palla barely escaped the onslaught, while Minerva was defeated and captured. Catria encountered Marth's expedition force, having just arrived from Grust, while Palla worked with Julian to try and find the missing Lena and Maria until Marth's forces arrived, then joined up with Marth's forces. At request, Rucke handed Minerva over to Michalis, who took her to a village in Khadein to rest and wait for Marth; when Marth himself arrived after fleeing the Archanean army, Minerva joined him in order to facilitate searching for Maria. The three remained with Marth's army throughout the War of Heroes, and Est temporarily rejoined them after being rescued from captivity at the hands of Eibel.
