Validar (Japanese: ファウダー Fauder) is one of the main antagonists in Fire Emblem Awakening. He is the leader of the Grimleal, a cult from Plegia that worships the Fell Dragon Grima. Validar is a sorcerer who wields dark magic. He is the wielder of Grima's Truth.

Validar is the leader of the Grimleal, and after the timeskip, the king of Plegia. He is one of the primary catalysts behind the plot, with he and his group being the ones wishing for the revival of the Fell Dragon Grima. He reveals himself to be the father of Robin and wishes to use the Avatar as a vessel for Grima's resseruction.

Personality and character

Validar is a zealous and deluded member of the Grimleal who worships Grima as a God. He has no apparent greater goal in serving Grima other than to see the world burn; when Lucina tries to tell him that Grima will destroy the world, he simply expresses his hope that the calamity will match her nightmares. Validar is also a deep believer in the principle of fate, and repeatedly asserts to Chrom and his companions that their destinies cannot be changed.
