“ | We are all bound by a contract with Princess Veronica. And yet I am also bound in another way—by the deep loneliness I see in her eyes. She reminds me of one of my siblings who was once held captive in a joyless fortress. Perhaps you can understand why I could never oppose her. Or perhaps you cannot. | ” | — Xander |

World of Conquest/Script
The Order of Heroes are welcomed to Nohr by its eldest prince, Xander. He explains that, while he is bound to Veronica by a contract, he would not abandon her even if the contract is broken, as he senses a deep sense of loneliness within her, that reminds him of another of his siblings who was once held captive in an isolated fortress, kept alone from the rest of their family. Battle ensues, and Xander and the Nohrian royals are defeated. Xander states that, now that he and his family know how the Order operates, the following battles will be more difficult.
Despite Xander's warning, however, the Order successfully defeats the armies of Elise, Leo, and Camilla, and their respective retainers, facing off against Xander once more. The Order defeats him again, releasing him and the World of Conquest from Veronica's contract. Xander, however, chooses to return to Veronica of his own free will.
After the battle is over, Anna, Alfonse, and Sharena discuss why Xander would choose to remain loyal to Veronica. Sharena mentions that two of her best friends are Heroes, and as a result, those Heroes choose to remain in Askr. Alfonse tries to warn Sharena not to get too close to the Heroes, but before he can explain why, Anna orders them to drop the discussion, and return to the castle.
