Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
Role
When Eliwood and Hector were pursuing Darin to question him on the disappearance of Elbert, Erik volunteers[1] to stop them from crossing Laus. Erik rides from the castle alone and and asks Eliwood if he is headed to Ostia and if he has spoken with Hector recently. This quickly draws Eliwood's suspicion and Erik has his nearby troops ambush Eliwood's group. Erik admits he is dissapointed he was unable to get Eliwood to tell him if they had already met with Marquess Ostia and rides back to Laus to defend the castle gate.
When Erik begins struggling with Eliwood's forces Darin flees Laus, abandoning Erik to defend the castle alone. Erik is eventually defeated and captured, Eliwood and Hector then interrogate him for info on his father's motives. They find out that Darin, since a year ago, has been manipulated by a mysterious figure named Ephidel and leave Laus to pursue Darin into Caelin.

Personality and character
Even at a young age Erik tried to get on the good sides of people that he though were or would be powerful. When Erik first met Eliwood and Hector as children he was very talkative in an attempt to sway their favors.[2] Later, he overzealously attempted to make the kids present commit to a warrior's oath; he begun by cutting his palm so that they could all clasp hands and become blood-brothers. This only served to confuse the other children.[3]
When Erik and Eliwood's group clash in The Blazing Blade Eirk says he has always been annoyed by Eliwood's "pathetic morality" and is happy to have the opportunity to fight him;[4] though any long term effect this has on him isn't elaborated.
He expresses distress that his father abandoned him when Eliwood and Hector interrogate him.[5]

Trivia
- Erik has a custom unit palette in The Binding Blade, but it is mistakenly assigned to be used when he is a Paladin, and so does not display.
- Erik's in game palette depicts him with green hair and light red armor, presumably due to the enemy palette overwriting his in-game color scheme. If hacked to be a playable unit, Erik's palette depicts him with dark red-purple armor and brown hair, matching his portrait.
