Blood and Snow/Script
After passing through the gate to Nifl, Sharena worries about the townspeople that they left behind, only for Anna to inform her that Alfonse's quick thinking saved them and reminds her of their mission. Fjorm, however, informs them that they must proceed with caution, as Laegjarn, a high-ranking general of Múspell, has set up camp in Nifl, but also states that her sister Gunnthrá has been evading them so far. Before the group can set off to find her, Laevatein arrives under orders from Surtr to kill them.
After she is defeated, Laevatein retreats, giving the Order a chance to flee. The group finds it difficult to navigate the snow without leaving footprints behind, but Anna orders them to make one, her plan being to create a fake trail, then double back and head in another direction, covering and hiding their true path. Meanwhile, Laevatein meets up with her sister Laegjarn and intends to follow the trail of footprints, but Leagjarn is wise to the trick and decides to search the area instead.
The enemy forces quickly catch up to the Order, and they are soon encountered by Laegjarn, who offers to spare them if they surrender. They note Laegjarn's nobility compared to Surtr, but refuse regardless. After they are defeated, Laegjarn, notes that they will need a new plan to defeat the Askrans. Laevatein offers to "set herself ablaze", but her sister is opposed to the idea, telling her that the power would consume her entirely. The two then think through why the Order is in Nifl, and arrive at the conclusion that they are seeking something that will defeat Múspell. While they do not know what they are seeking, Laegjarn is determined to stop them before they can find it.
