Binding Worlds is a game mode in Fire Emblem Heroes, added to the game in the Risk and Reward update and starting its first event on August 12, 2022.
Binding Worlds is a game mode that allows players to utilize characters based on those contributed by players throughout the world in order to release enclosures from Embla's grip.
Gameplay
In the same vein as an Allegiance Battle, players can contribute one character into the global pool of characters by choosing the "Set Sent Proxy" option.
At the start of an event, players begin with a preset team of four characters separate from the player's progressed. These characters begin at level 10 at five-star rarity and are equipped with a second-tier weapon skill and lower-tier skills, usually first-tier ones, corresponding to the remainder of their default skill kit excluding personal passive skills.
Players are allotted three points of mode-specific stamina each day of an event; these replenish at the daily reset (7:00 AM UTC), and can also be replenished manually with a Binding Torch, nine of which are allotted to players through the rewards table.
Players can fight their way through twenty-six combinations of level, rarity, and difficulty settings called Enclosures. Each battle randomly generates from a selection of maps and characters in the same vein as the Training Tower; unlike the Training Tower, the player cannot manually refresh the setups in an attempt to gain a more favorable map. Opponents are generics in Normal-difficulty chambers, and non-generics in chambers of higher difficulties. Battles work mostly in a similar fashion as normal, but characters are unable to gain experience and SP.
Present on each map is one special marked square called a Divine Askr Gate. When a character stops on this square, they can choose to exchange the character that stepped onto the gate for another character from the global character pool; the characters on offer tend to have higher levels and better skill setups than the character stepping onto the gate. Levels of characters that can join the player's team in this way can exceed the normal cap of 40 (the level cap in this mode is 99). Once the player has made a successful character exchange, the newly-arrived character can take an action immediately without having to wait for the next turn or a refresh skill (i.e. Sing, Dance, Play).
There are two ways to earn rewards in Binding Worlds. Players can earn a daily reward for the first map cleared in a day; the reward is two Orbs on days one, three, and five, and seven, and forty Dragonflowers on days two, four, and six (the type of Dragonflower is the same within an event, but varies between event). Players also earn rewards the first time they clear a particular Chamber.
