— Chapter 19 intro of Shadow Dragon

The Fane of Raman (Japanese: ラーマン神殿 Temple of Raman) is a temple built by the ancient dragonkin to house their greatest treasures. It is located on the island of Chasmir, north of Grust and south of Khadein, connected to the mainland by a great bridge.

History

Ancient times

The exact origins of the Fane of Raman are unknown, though it is theorized to be related to the divine dragons Duma and Mila.[1] In the year -500, Naga of the divine dragon clan placed Falchion and the Binding Shield in the Fane of Raman before her fated death. 730 years after the death of Naga, the thief Adrah broke into the Fane of Raman and stole the Binding Shield along with a few other treasures such as Mercurius and Parthia.[1] Adrah then proceeded to break off the Binding Shield's five spheres to sell for money.

War of Shadows and aftermath

During the War of Shadows, Gharnef managed to hypnotize Naga's daughter, Tiki, and put her as the guardian of the temple in order to prevent Marth from reclaiming the Lightsphere and Starsphere necessary to forge Starlight.[2] With the help of Bantu, Marth managed to recruit Tiki into his army by snaping her out of her trance and reclaims the orbs inside the temple.

Before the beginning of the War of Heroes, a group of thieves lead by Dall used the Fane of Raman as their hideout to protect their treasures. As Marth's army was marching toward Chiasmir, fleeing Grust territory, a dancer named Phina lost herself in the forest nearby and get ambushed by the thieves.[3] Navarre, who was part of the bandits, turn on them and came to her rescue. The two then joined Marth's forces and defeated the thieves.
