Wyvern Generals

The Wyvern Generals (三竜将 Three Dragon Generals) are the three highest-ranked commanders of Bern's military, answering directly to the country's King.
Overview
Year 980 (Blazing Sword)
As of the year 980, the only Wyvern General known to be active at the time was Murdock, said to have risen to the rank at impressive speed given his youth; he remained in the role for the next few decades. Vaida, a deserter from Bern's army, was a Wyvern General at one point[1], but defected out of refusal to kill innocents and was stripped of her rank for it.
Year 999 (The Binding Blade)
By almost twenty years later, the three Generals were comprised of Murdock, Brunnya and Narcian; Narcian's post was originally intended for Galle, but Narcian's complaints about Galle's non-Bern native status resulted in Narcian getting the post instead. At the onset of the Great Movement of Bern, each of the three Generals led the invasion of a country: Murdock led the Ilia invasion, Brunnya led Sacae's, and Narcian led Lycia's. Both Brunnya and Narcian led the assault on Castle Araphen and fought Lord Hector, fatally wounding him. When Roy's army defeated the Ostian coup forces led by Leygance, Narcian attempted to attack Ostia at this point of weakness but was stopped by the arrival of Cecilia and Perceval of Etruria.
Following his defeat there, Narcian successfully engineered a civil war in Etruria, convincing Arcard and Roartz to defect to Bern, and with the defected "Revolutionaries", cornered Cecilia and Guinevere in a castle in Missur. After King Zephiel himself arrived and defeated Cecilia, he deployed Narcian to the Nabata Desert to find Arcadia, and Narcian's subsequent failure combined with his failures to claim Ostia and defeat Cecilia caused him to be demoted from the Wyvern General rank and be succeeded by Galle. Near the war's end, both Murdock and Galle were deployed to the Shrine of Seals, to obstruct Roy's march through Bern, and ultimately failed and died. As Roy's army neared Bern Keep itself, Zephiel tasked Brunnya with escorting Idenn to safety; Brunnya took her to the Dragon Temple and entrusted her to Jahn, then prepared for battle with Roy's pursuing army, resigned to her inevitable death in the fight.

Trivia
- The Wyvern Generals can be considered analogious to Etruria's three highest generals: the Mage General (Pent/Cecilia) is somewhat analogious to Brunnya, the Knight General (Perceval) to Narcian/Galle, and the Great General (Douglas) - the leader of the trio - is comparable to Murdock.
- The Wyvern Generals have a unique battle theme: "In the Name of Bern".
