Smash Brethren 2 is a downloadable content xenologue chapter in Fire Emblem Awakening. As a xenologue chapter, it does not officially bear a chapter number; if all xenologues are purchased and its list is viewed at the Outrealm Gate, Smash Brethren 2 is the eleventh one from the top in the North American version of the game. Officially in Japan and unofficially in North America, Smash Brethren 2 is part of the first series of DLC releases, a distinction that does not exist in the PAL regions.
This chapter was first made available on June 6, 2012 in Japan, March 21, 2013 in North America, and July 25-26 in the PAL regions. PAL region players who purchased the Smash Pack prior to Smash Brethren 2's offical release were able to play the chapter a week early.
In this chapter, the tides have turned against the forces of Tellius as the forces of Elibe have teamed up with forces of Magvel. The Shepherds must now take on the combined forces of Elibe and Magvel.

Old Hubba notices Chrom has returned to the space between Outrealms right on time as predicted, to which Chrom states the Shepherds have come to do their part to save the Outrealms--defeat the rogue Einherjar until they're weak enough for Old Hubba to capture; Old Hubba calls Chrom's summary of what needs to be done excellent, and also reveals that he's tricked one of the phantom armies into thinking they summoned the Shepherds. Old Hubba states it was easy tricking their leader into swallowing Old Hubba's bait hook, line, and sinker; Chrom notes Old Hubba's metaphor unfortunate but good news nonetheless. Battle preparations take place as it is revealed that the chapter's main setting is the Elibe-based Outrealm, with all of the chambers already open.
Once preparations are finished, Hector reveals that their group has received word from Eliwood that he has made it through, to which Roy asks the situation with Eliwood in place, and Hector revealing that they have the enemy surrounded; Lyn tells Roy that this is their chance and they should strike while they have the advantage, to which Roy states his agreement, that they can't have their enemy calling for reinforcements, to which Roy rallies the troops afterward. Chrom asks someone if they're the one who summoned the Shepherds; revealing herself to be whom Chrom spoke to, Elincia introduces herself, to which Chrom notes her as the queen of Tellian lore, getting a shocked reaction out of Elincia. Chrom asks Elincia to look at all of those enemies, to which Elincia states she fears the scales are tipped woefully against them; Chrom asks Elincia if they should be expecting further opposition, to which Elincia states her scouts have confirmed the surrounding area is clear, with Chrom stating it's simply a matter of taking down all the enemies in sight--doubting his choice of words in "simply". The battle begins at this point.
After the first player phase, Innes tells Eliwood that Roy's forces are mobilizing to the north, to which Eliwood states it's time for their group to take the offensive and calls his forces; Ephraim states that Eliwood's call looks like their cue, with Zephiel preparing to ride. Eirika notes that warriors from another world have come to torment this land, and ponders her actions if what the others say it to be true.
Once the battle ends, if Elincia survived, Chrom notes that should be the last of their adversaries, to which Elincia also notices and thanks Chrom; Chrom states the deed had to be done for the good of all, and asks Elincia to summon the Shepherds again should the need arise. Elincia states she found something lying on the battlefield--an Einherjar card, "Eirika, Restoration Queen", Chrom noting Eirika as a queen from the old Magvelian tales. Elincia confessing that she has no idea what Chrom's talking about, yet if the card is to serve the Shepherds, it's Chrom's; Elincia states she'll entrust it to Robin. If Elincia did not survive, Chrom notes that should be the last of their adversaries, to which the Avatar asking Chrom if he remembers how real peace is achieved in the Outrealms; Chrom notes that it's done step by step, one at a time, and the Shepherds might have a battle or two to truly finish the fight. The Avatar tells Chrom that he/she found a card in one of the chambers they cleared; Chrom notices it as the Eirika Einherjar and wonders what Eirika has to say.
Back in the space between Outrealms, a conversation will then ensue between Eirika and the player, with the choices the player makes affecting what Eirika says next. At the end of the conversation, the player will then be given an offer to add Eirika to their active roster, which they can either accept or refuse. Afterward, the game will give the player a Wedding Bouquet.
