Dance (Japanese: 踊る Dance) is a skill which debuted as a command in Mystery of the Emblem, then debuted as a defined visible skill in Genealogy of the Holy War, and has appeared in some form in almost every Fire Emblem series title since. Exclusively held by Dancers, its function is to refresh adjacent allied units to grant them a second movement opportunity in the turn, if they had previously moved already.
A small few games feature classes which replace Dancers or act as a counterpart to them, but otherwise perform an identical function. In The Binding Blade and The Blazing Blade, the Bard acts as a direct male countepart to Dancers, performs the same function through the Play command and, in Fire Emblem, can make full use of the same four dancer ring items as the Dancer. Neither appears in Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn, replaced by Herons who can use the functionally identical Canto or Galdrar skill, respectively, to fill the same role. In Fates, the Dancer is instead replaced by the Songstress class, who also performs the same function with the Sing command.
