The Great Bridge Coup (Japanese: ミルディン大橋の戦い Battle of the Great Bridge of Myrddin) is the main battle map of the sixteenth chapter on the Silver Snow, Azure Moon, and Verdant Wind routes in Fire Emblem: Three Houses. In this map, Byleth and their army retake the Great Bridge of Myrddin from the Adrestian Empire.

Beginning log

After fending off the Empire, your forces decide it's time to advance. But first, you must capture the Great Bridge of Myrddin, a strategic crossing point over the Airmid River, which borders the Alliance and the Empire.

Reinforcements

On Maddening, all reinforcements can act the turn they appear, except for Lorenz's and Acheron's groups.

  • After a unit approaches the southeastern fortress or crosses the 17th column
  • One turn after the previous wave
    • 1 Cavalier from the center of the fortress
    The above pattern repeats indefinitely until the four enemies surrounding the fortress (the Armored Knight, two Cavaliers, and Brigand) have been defeated.
  • Every other turn, starting turn 1 (Hard/Maddening only)
    • 1 Paladin from the western border of the map
  • After (Normal/Hard)/Upon (Maddening) a unit approaches the southeastern fortress
  • After a unit reaches column 17, or passes the northeast L-shaped wall
    • Acheron from south of ally starting positions
    • 3 Armored Knights from southwest of ally starting positions
    • 2 Paladins from south of ally starting positions
  • Upon fighting Ferdinand*/the Imperial General Paladin* or defeating Ladislava; these can act the turn they appear if they appear on player phase, but not if they appear on enemy phase

Trivia

  • Unused data of a battle quote between Claude and an enemy Lorenz suggests the latter was planned to potentially leave the party in the Verdant Wind route and be fought here, as he is in Silver Snow and Azure Moon.[1][2]
    • Similarly, both used and unused data within the Silver Snow route suggests Ferdinand was considered to potentially defect in the route if he had previously fallen in battle during Part I in Classic Mode and be fought here as well.
