The Spear (Japanese: スレンドスピア Slender Spear) is a rare ranged lance which was introduced in Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. It is the most powerful of the ordinary throwing lances, able to attack at both close and distant range. However, it is conversely much rarer than the two lesser ranged lances, the Javelin and Short Spear, and is entirely unavailable to the player in The Binding Blade and New Mystery of the Emblem. Unusually for a lance, the Fates version of the Spear is capable of attack at only 2 range.
In Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, Vaida wields a unique modified version of this weapon in her appearance as a boss in Chapter 24E/26H, which provides its wielder with significant stat boosts. This particular Spear is usually referred to as "Vaida's Spear" or the "Uberspear" by fan communities, is unobtainable in legitimate gameplay and as such is often sought after through use of the game's Mine glitch. When she is recruited later in the game, however, she instead wields a normal Spear which gives no stat bonuses.

Fire Emblem Cipher
The Spear is present as a skill on one card in Fire Emblem Cipher: B05-064HN, Champion of Faith Aran. It is a Level S Skill which can be activated by the player if Aran is in a stack of 3 or more cards. For the cost of flipping one bond card, the player may activate the Spear to increase Aran's range to 1-2 and give him a +10 attack bonus until the end of the turn.

Trivia
- In Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, Vaida's "Uberspear" is the only weapon in the entire Fire Emblem series which provides a temporary boost to a unit's maximum HP when equipped.
