Rumors of a Reaper/Script
Rhea and Seteth recount rumors of a mysterious Death Knight abducting innocent civilians in the dead of night. Fearing he may have taken Flayn, the two order Byleth and their students to scour the monastery for clues to her whereabouts. If Byleth is a member of the Blue Lions, they and Dedue discover Dimitri reading late at night in the library. When he leaves, Byleth discovers he was researching a former patron of the Church of Seiros named Lord Arundel who mysteriously stopped donating in 1174. Byleth investigates the residents of the monastery and discovers that both Manuela and the fencing instructor Jeritza's whereabouts are unknown. Eventually, one of the students hears a scream from Jeritza's room. Byleth investigates and discovers Manuela injured and a secret passage behind a shelf. The lord character and Hanneman take Manuela to the infirmary while Byleth and the students enter the secret passage. There, they discover Flayn and another student unconscious, and are confronted by the Death Knight. Byleth engages in battle with the Death Knight, until the latter is ordered to withdraw by the masked individual. They introduce themselves as the Flame Emperor before fleeing as well.
Byleth and the students return to the monastery with Flayn and the student and regroup with the lord. Seteth is extremely grateful for Flayn's rescue. Given the events of the month, Seteth presumes that Jeritza is the Death Knight. He conjectures that the enemy wanted Flayn for the rare power in her blood. Seteth considers fleeing the monastery with Flayn for her protection, but Flayn appears and convinces him to allow her to enroll in the Officer's Academy as a member of Byleth's class. Byleth meets Rhea, who thanks Byleth and explains that the other unidentified student is Monica, a student from last year's class who vanished shortly before graduation. Hanneman explains that the traditional Battle of the Eagle and Lion will be held in Gronder Field next month, and Rhea bids Byleth continue to train their students. Later, Byleth meets up with Jeralt, who explains that he has been tasked with investigating the mysterious goings-on around the monastery. He tells Byleth to search his room if something happens to him, as he intends to leave something important behind.

Rumors of a Reaper/The Underground Chamber
You are forced to explore the monastery on Sunday the 7th. After completing the No Stone Unturned quest, you will be able to visit Jeritza's quarters. Doing so ends the month prematurely, and you can play the month as normal as long as you ignore it. You will also find an Antique Clasp lying around; this lost item belongs to Flayn, who is incapacitated this month, and it cannot be returned until the next month. On the 14th, you will have your first Rare Monster Sighting. These are valuable sources of experience, weapons, and rare crafting materials, and the only way to get the Archanean regalia. Always take advantage of them whenever the opportunity presents itself. It's also worth noting that if you are a Black Eagle, getting a C+ support with Edelgard gives her access to the Crest of Flames just like Byleth. Finally, it's probably a good idea to try to push Byleth to level 15 so you can recruit Shamir and (if you're not a Black Eagle) Catherine.
