The Dandelion (Japanese: ダンディライオン Dandelion) is the side quest of the twelfth chapter of Fire Emblem: Thracia 776. In order to play this chapter, the player must have completed the previous chapter in fewer than 20 turns.

The Dandelion/Script
As Leif's forces enter the Dandelion's hideout, Perne sends Troude to check what happened to Salem, who was supposed to be on the lookout. He also orders Tina to use her Thief staff against the intruders and threatens her with punishment if she does not obey.
At the same time, among Leif's forces, Salem volunteers to talk to Perne if he is present and joins Leif's army. If Lifis or Lara are deployed, they both admit that they know Perne, but Lara remembers him fondly because he saved her from an abusive performer troupe, while Lifis remembers Perne poorly for undisclosed reasons.
A battle ensues, and during it, several conversations can be initiated. If Safy talks to Tina, they eagerly reunite and Safy is told that Perne's "punishment" for Tina's disobedience was... showing her a caterpillar. Safy then tells Tina to obey her from now on and Tina accepts. If Lifis talks to Perne, they recall their past when Perne bullied Lifis, and Perne decides to join Leif's army, to Lifis's chagrin. If Lara talks to Perne, they recall the time when Perne watched Lara dance in her performer troupe, and Lara offers him to start dancing again. Perne accepts the offer and joins Leif's Liberation Army in return, as Lara becomes a Dancer.
After Perne joins Leif's army, he can talk to Troude and order him to stop fighting, recruiting him into Leif's forces in the process.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Perne's group of thieves seek to open chests and escape, and while getting these items isn't mandatory, the thieves have high speed and constitution and may steal items and weapons from your slower units or even capture your weaker ones. To add insult to injury, the many dancers that serve Perne may put their skills to work and allow their fellow enemy units to move twice.
This can easily be avoided by using the Warp staff to send Lara (recommended if you would like a playable dancer), Salem (if you held onto him in the previous chapter), or Lifis into the throne room and talk to Perne. However, all of the enemies, excluding Tina but including the recruitable Troude, will head for the exits. Fortunately, Salem has a Sleep staff that can be used, and a unit with high constitution can capture Troude for the rest of battle. Make sure to use a Torch or a Torch staff to reveal his location
Before Perne has been recruited, however, Tina will keep using her Thief staff (but will never use her Unlock staff) on your units, and while she will gain weapon experience even if she misses, a successful steal will consume a staff use. As such, once Perne joins your side, make it a priority to steal said staff before all else. As tempting as it is to use the Sleep or Silence staff on Tina to prevent her from using her Thief staff to steal your items, bear in mind that doing this will prevent her from being recruited. If one doesn't have anyone capable of using the warp staff, it is possible to give their units personal weapons even if they can't use them, as Tina will prioritize stealing those.
Perne also does not have a lockpick and Tina will not use her Unlock staff as an enemy unit, so bring sure to bring a lockpick or door key to enter Perne's room.
If the player does not kill or capture any of the enemy dancers, then an enemy dancer with a Knight Proof will spawn on turn 25 by the stairs to the left of Leif's starting position. 5 turns later (turn 30), another dancer will spawn with the same requirements, but this time with a Warp staff in her inventory. Both of these dancers will immediately run north to escape, so the player must be attentive or block their escape point (though if the first dancer is still on the stairs the second one will not spawn). Fulfilling these requirements is trivial with the Warp skip method of completing this chapter. Do note that the Knight Proof must be stolen, as capturing the dancer with it will deny access to the Warp staff. Additionally, the Warp staff is too heavy to be stolen without a constitution level on one of the player's thieves, though fortunately she can be captured without consequence.
Because this chapter has no combat if Warp skipped (aside from one or two captures), any unit with high fatigue that is not needed should be let to rest.
