The Slim Sword (Japanese: 細身の剣 Delicate Sword) is a basic sword which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. It is a weak but lightweight weapon designed as an alternative to the regular Iron Sword for units with low constitution stats, as its lack of weight keeps the penalties on the user's attack speed to a minimum, giving lower-leveled sword-wielders a better chance to fight and gain the experience and stats needed to successfully use heavier swords. However, once these units have overcome this hurdle and gained enough speed, the Slim Sword's low might and inferior durability makes its continued use unfavorable when there are stronger swords with better durability available.
