This is a fairly easy chapter as long as you've either trained Roy or given him stat boosters. If the player desires to get the true ending, Roy must deal the final blow to Idunn with the Binding Blade. Idunn isn't a particularly scary boss and she is locked to 1 range meaning you can attack her from range without any consequence. Keep in mind the the Binding Blade and the Divinestone are the only weapons that are effective against her (wyrmslayers and legendary weapons don't deal x3 damage). There are infinite reinforcements, but they aren't too strong and can be dealt with fairly easily. If Roy isn't strong enough deal with Idunn, it's best to use other units to weaken her and finish her off with Roy.
At base, with nothing except his promotion gains, Roy already can 3HKO Idunn with the Binding Blade with 64 displayed hit. Once he reaches a mere 16 Strength thorough stat gains, statboosters or supports, he will gain the ability to 2HKO Idunn. At 21 Speed, he doubles Idunn, potentially ORKO'ing if he also reached the Strength benchmark.
