The Ridersbane (also known as Horseslayer or Knight Killer) is a fairly common lance-type weapon in the Fire Emblem series. While it is not that powerful, its main advantage is its bonus damage against horseback units, such as cavaliers and paladins.
The ridersbane made its first appearance in Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light and is available in all games of the series prior to Awakening, where it was replaced by the Beast Killer.
