Bitter Cold/Script
In the middle of a blizzard, the Etrurian Army enters the mountains of Carrhae, held by the Ilian mercenary Sigune under Bern's orders. After his previous conversation with Niime, Roy now wonders if the Demon Dragon also has a human form. Niime mentions that dragons in human form are rumored to live among humans, reminding Roy of Arcadia, though he does not tell her of the village. Then, Niime tells him of the Ending Winter. It was a disaster that twisted the laws of nature, turning day to night and summer to winter. She suspects that the Ending Winter may relate to dragons taking human shape.
The Etrurian Army successfully pushes through the blizzard and defeats Sigune. Once inside shelter, Roy pens a letter to inform Yoder of all Niime told him, and he gives it to Merlinus to read. During Merlinus' absence, Princess Guinivere arrives to continue their last talk. She admits that Zephiel did kill their father, but rejects Roy's notion that he did so to seize the throne. Instead, she brings up the abuse Zephiel suffered from Desmond, but is interrupted by Merlinus' return before elaborating and leaves. Roy is left to wonder at the truth behind Zephiel's actions.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
This chapter is challenging due to the fog of war. Stay vigilant.
Key Considerations:
- Identify the positions of the Ballistae on the map above and ensure your flying units maintain a safe distance.
- Familiarize yourself with the enemies present (refer to the information above). This will help you choose which characters and items to bring.
Recommended Units:
- Deploy Snipers, axe units, and Nomads. These units excel at engaging enemies from a distance.
- Bring at least one Thief equipped with a Torch. Make sure they are always guarded, especially if they are low level.
- Bring units with high defense and always position them at the forefront of your group.
Preparations for Future Battles:
- Purchase 3–4 Physic staves to have reserves for upcoming chapters. Additionally, get 1–2 Restore staves if you are running low.
- Stock up on Chest Keys and Door Keys.
Enemy Insights:
- The closest Druid wields a Sleep staff, while another possesses a Silence staff. Neither will be able to counterattack. Expect similar staff-wielding enemies in future chapters.
- Most non-promoted enemies carry Steel weapons and a few Javelins. However, one of the Knights near the boss has an Axereaver. Promoted enemies are armed with Silver Lances.
- Tackle the boss using one of your best bow-wielding characters. Always have a healer positioned behind for support.
Strategy Recommendations:
- Prioritize taking out the Druids and keep Restore staves at hand.
- Approach cautiously. Avoid moving within the attack range of enemy groups if your units are not prepared for the onslaught.
- At the chapter's start, the nearest group of Pegasi will target you. Tackle them first and then advance.
- Avoid placing Niime on the frontline. Despite being promoted, her stats, especially HP, are notably low. Retain the uses of her Eclipse tome and use her primarily as a healer.
