Dragon Blood (Japanese: 竜の血がもつ宿命 The Fate of the Dragon's Blood) is the second paralogue chapter in Fire Emblem Fates. As a paralogue chapter, its events are not integral to the game's main storyline and can be done at the player's leisure. The chapter is unlocked after both clearing chapter 7 (be it in Birthright, Conquest, or Revelation) and have Corrin married. This chapter can only be unlocked if Corrin marries someone of the opposite gender, and thus is unavailable if a male Corrin marries Niles or if a female Corrin marries Rhajat.
In this chapter, Corrin and his/her army journey to one of the Deeprealms where a wave of invaders has begun attacking his/her child, Kana, who has just discovered inner strength.
Plot

Dragon Blood/Script - The below plot corresponds to the use of a male Corrin. If you refresh this page, it is possible to get an alternate reading using a female variation instead.
In a town in one of the Deeprealms, Kana notes that that day is lovely and she just might break out in song and twirl all day; Kana then notes that that day is the day her father is due to visit, and she hasn't seen him in a long time, and thus is spurred into doing something special. Kana contemplates gathering fruit or fishing, but notes that her father has both fruit and fish and thus she had better get going; an invader arrives on the scene with Kana taking notice, with Kana noting that the invader looks odd and asks the invader to get away from her. Kana tries to run away, but more invaders appear; Kana asks the invaders to not cause trouble, as her father will soon be in the area. As Kana realizes the invaders aren't listening, she states that she can't run yet they're looking like they're ready to do evil things; at this point, Kana gets hit by one of the invaders' attacks.
As if on cue, Kana's father, Corrin, arrives on the scene and takes out the invader that hit Kana, stating she has arrived in the nick of time, asking Kana if she is all right; Corrin apologizes to Kana, realizing she has been safe for so long and never thought anyone would come to hurt her, then asks her if she is OK, to which Kana confirms. Corrin asks Kana to get away and that she has everything in hand; Corrin then chews out the invaders for daring to touch his child and vows to soak the fields in their blood, taking out two more of the invaders in the process. Kana tells Corrin that there are too many invaders; Corrin vows to protect Kana, but also tells her to not worry about him as he told her to flee the area. Corrin then tells the rest of the invaders to prepare to join their comrades in death; Corrin then attacks one of the invaders but fails to put a dent. Corrin notes that these invaders are tough, but he states that he must fight in order to keep them away from Kana; Kana chews out the invaders and asks them to stop hurting Corrin, rushing into the area and pushing Corrin out of the way. Corrin once more tells Kana to flee the area, to which Kana refuses; Kana states she has waited long enough to see Corrin once again, and nobody's going to take him away from her again. Kana struggles trying to state she is staying, and eventually transforms into a feral dragon.
As Corrin notes Kana's transformation, Kana easily defeats the nearest invader; Corrin notes that this shouldn't be happening, that Kana doesn't have the ability to transform into a dragon—then realizes she must have inherited it from him and it's awakened at an inopportune time. Corrin notes that Kana is out of control and that this must be her first time transforming and thus is at risk of losing herself to a mindless rampage; Corrin calls his army into the area, stating that they must clear the field of these invaders and fast. Preparations take place at this point; the battle begins once preparations are complete.
Should the battle still be going at the end of turn 8 enemy phase, a pair of ruffians named Llewelyn and Lloyd arrive in the area and note Kana's presence, making plans on catching Kana, then stating they should try to decide what to name Kana. Upon the player entering into battle against one of them, it appears Lloyd had planned on naming Kana "Llizardface" while Llewelyn plans on naming her "Llardbutt".
Once the battle ends, Kana has come to and tells Corrin that she turned into a dragon, which Corrin states actually did happen; Kana, noting Corrin looks upset, explains what led to the transformation and apologizes, stating she didn't mean to transform. As Corrin explains having the same power and how he keeps that power in check, he reveals that Kana also needs a stone to do the same; as it so happens, Azura gave Corrin a stone Kana could use and tells Kana to always carry it with her. Kana then starts to attempt to convince Corrin to let her travel with him, to which Corrin relucantly agrees after a long exchange wanting to refuse.
Summary
The village that is home to Corrin's child, Kana, is under attack. Upon hearing the news, Corrin rushes to the village to protect Kana.

As a paralogue chapter, there is no set timeframe in which the chapter must be taken on; thus, it is possible to have recruited more characters than the above by the point the chapter is started.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Dragon Veins can be interacted with to fill or drain the moats and create chokepoints; however, they block off player units as well, and will not slow the Sky Knights and Falcon Knights from the south. The Archers/Snipers to the northeast and the Diviners/Onmyoji to the west can be defeated by a strong unit with weapon triangle advantage against them, a sword- or tome-user for the former and a lance- or dagger-user for the latter. The most dangerous enemies on the map are the Falcon Knights with Darting Blow who begin to move on turn 2, but they and the Sky Knights can be defeated by bow-users; as there are three of each, three bow-users or two and Azura can defeat each group in one turn. The remaining enemies enemies fight in smaller groups at a slower pace. Reinforcements begin to arrive on turn 8, led by Lloyd and Llelwyn, who are fairly strong Berserkers and can be captured. Additionally, Kana will join at the end of the paralogue even if they are defeated at any point during it.
Trivia
- If the player is using a female Corrin, this is one of only two child paralogue that unlocks upon marrying off a female character. The only other female character is Azura, who unlocks the paralogue, Surprise Duet.
