Role
In Chapter 4, Clarine is searching for her brother Klein after they are unexpectedly separate. When she searches in Lycia, she is captured by Eric, the marquess of Laus. Rutger, a mercenary hired by Erik, sets her free. She finds herself in the middle of a battle and decides to join Roy's side. When Rutger appears on the battlefield, she angrily berates him for not treating royalty correctly, which causes Rutger to defect to Roy's side as well. Clarine joins Roy and decides to travel with him. Several days later, in Chapter 10, she finds her brother Klein.

Personality and character
Clarine is a self-centered and arrogant girl who is often rude to others, although she does have good intentions. She usually looks down on people due to their social status, and takes great pride in her Etrurian heritage, saying that Lance is not as good as Etrurian knights are. Clarine takes great pride in her appearance, suggesting that Dorothy wash her hair three times a day, suggesting that she does the same.[1] Despite her mean appearance, Clarine does have a kind side, shown in her support conversations with Rutger and Dorothy.
Clarine is the brother of Klein, a skilled sniper. She greatly admires her older brother Klein and finds him very attractive. She is the daughter of Pent and Louise, a sage and sniper respectively who appear in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade, the prequel to Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade. Although she is of high status, she states that she does not want to go back to the mansion, even though she wants to see her parents.[2] According to her she would have to live a boring life. By then, she has grown up enough to desire a more interesting life than just decorating herself.[3] This shows that she has grown up as not just a snobbish girl but a quite introspective lady.

- ↑ Clarine: How do you take care of your hair?
Dorothy: I wash it with water.
Clarine: What!? I can't believe...! Here, use this. You must wash your hair with it three times a day! Understood?
- ↑ Clarine: I... I don't want to go back to the mansion after the war...
Klein: Why? Father and Mother are anxious for us to return.
Clarine: I want to meet Father and Mother... But...
- ↑ Clarine: But if I return to the mansion, I would just be a doll again. I would never see the outside world, and I would only be concerned about decorating myself...
Klein: Well, that is how most Etrurian ladies are.
Clarine: Yes, I know... But becoming the most elegant lady in Etruria does not seem as appealing as it once did.
Klein: That's because you're growing up and maturing, Clarine. If you stay at the mansion, you could just live your life without doing anything. That would be easy, but...
Clarine: But it would be so horribly boring!
