“ | Anyway, we're all about love, peace, and chicken grease in Izumo... So we don't exactly have a world-class military force. | ” | — Izana, to Corrin. |

Izana (Japanese: イザナ Izana) is a character in Fire Emblem Fates. The ruling duke of the Izumo region of Hoshido and a descendant of the First Dragons, he has the power to predict the future. Izana is a playable character in both Birthright and Conquest campaigns, but is not playable in the Revelation campaign and is one of two playable characters playable in that campaign (the other being Yukimura) who is not playable in the Revelation campaign.
Fire Emblem Fates
Role
Birthright
In the Birthright campaign, Izana is kidnapped by Zola, after which the latter disguised himself as him to fool Corrin and their party. He is later freed after Zola and his men are defeated in battle. He shows off his personality to the Hoshidans, surprising them as they had never expected the ruler of Izumo to be very energetic. Izana decides to host a party in gratitude for saving him. Corrin asks Izana if there had been any battles involving Nohrian troops, and Izana confirms their answers, calling the Nohrians "party poopers" and that they had thrown him in a cell that he had upholstered recently.
Corrin later asks Izana about Ryoma and Takumi, and Izana tells them that he heard the battle stretch all the way to the Bottomless Canyon and speculates that they fell in. Izana quickly apologizes for causing them unnecessary worry and performs a fortune, cryptically stating "A double-edged sword" and "Embrace the brand-new day". When he finishes, he tells them that they are still alive, much to their relief.
Conquest
In the Conquest campaign, the Nohrian army led by Corrin enter Izumo to relax before all-out war starts between Hoshido and Nohr. Zola and his men had arrived earlier and took Izana hostage, throwing him into his cell and leaving him in there. This time though, Ryoma and the Hoshidan royals are captured as well, and the Nohrian put a stop to Zola's plans. After Zola is killed, Izana is freed from his cell and shows off his flamboyant personality, which surprises the Nohrian royals as both sides feast.
Revelation
In the Revelation campaign, like in all other routes, Zola has Izana captured and disguises himself as Izana. Corrin comes to 'Izana' for advice on what to do regarding him being chosen by the dormant Fire Emblem at the advice of Fuga. 'Izana' claims to know nothing about it, and Gunter sees through his illusory veil and forces him out of disguise. Zola is defeated and killed by Leo afters. After finally meeting up with the real Izana, he uses his powers to try and convince Takumi to ally with Corrin, however, using that much of his power kills him. Takumi decides to join Corrin due to this, partly because Izana threatens to haunt him as a ghost if he does not comply. Izana's advice regarding the Fire Emblem was telling Corrin to meet with the Rainbow Sage.

Personality and character
Izana does not believe in fighting unless he has to, helping Corrin in both Birthright and Conquest to bring peace. Despite his elegant appearance, he is very outgoing; however, he does not like stubbornness, shown in Revelation in his interactions with Takumi.

Endings
Izana, Lord of Leisure (single ending)
Izana certainly suffered the ravages of war—he was never able to win another "Best Hair" contest. He tried to make up for it with lavish dinner parties and vacations, but he felt hollow inside.
Izana, Lord of Leisure & Corrin, Crux of Fate (Birthright and Conquest)
Izana returned to Izumo and continued hosting great banquets and feasts for neighboring royals. Corrin was hailed as a hero, working alongside her spouse to spread peace worldwide.
Izana, Lord of Leisure & Corrin, Queen of Valla (Revelation, unused)
The two spent the rest of their lives together, Corrin ruling as the wise Queen of Valla. Izana gave up his Izumo for Valla and quickly became the kingdom's most famous socialite.
