The Breath (Japanese: ブレス Breath) is a laguz strike weapon which was introduced in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. It is the means of attack used by the dragon laguz clans, namely the red dragons, white dragons and black dragons, with all of them exhaling blasts of a power related to them to attack. Each dragon clan has a unique variant of Breath with stats and powers specific to them. In Path of Radiance, all Breath types are restricted to melée combat which can only attack at 1 range, but they were improved in Radiant Dawn to give them the ability to attack at both 1 and 2 range.
Like all strikes, all Breath variants are not affected by durability and, being that they are part of the user's body, they cannot be unequipped, sold, or discarded. In Radiant Dawn, a unit's Breath will improve as their weapon level increases, being replaced by successively more powerful versions until they reach the maximum rank.

Trivia
- The Radiant Dawn version of Breath is tied with Fang with the most variations of a weapon in a single game than any other weapon wieldable by the player in the Fire Emblem series, with twelve variations programmed total for the Breath, albeit two unused (the Fang has nine variations programmed, all used) and eight variations wieldable by the player; the human weapon that makes the closest approach is the Yato of Fates, with seven. They are, however, beaten by Radiant Dawn's Judge and the Echoes: Shadows of Valentia version of Conjure in the overall department, thirteen variations programmed each, Judge having eleven variations used, and Shadows of Valentia Conjure known to have ten variations used.
