Dire Breidablik: Difference between revisions

From Fire Emblem Wiki, your source on Fire Emblem information. By fans, for fans.
m (The red tome version they showed to have the name Scarlet Breidablik, meaning each of the new variations'll have a different name. Going ahead and timing the tag to appear at daily reset on the 7th, since with any luck, a datamine "rush" will have revealed the details we need to make a decision by then (any movement on the issue before the corresponding datamine hits would be premature)...)

It has been proposed that this page be merged into Breidablik and Seven playable versions now, each differently named; would having one collected listing, or a separate article for each version, make more sense?. Please discuss this change on the talk page.

Dire Breidablik (Japanese: 死銃ブレイザブリク Death Gun Breiðablik) is a regalia weapon skill in the colorless tome category which debuted in Fire Emblem Heroes. It is a parallel version of Breidablik from the ruined Zenith seen in Book III and became the weapon of the Summoner after the events of that book. As a reflection of this in gameplay, it is a personal weapon of the Summoner as a playable unit. It is a weaponized form of the Summoner's Breidablik used when taking the field during Mjölnir's Strike from version 5.2.0 onward. The weapon, a black version of the regular Breidablik, first appeared in the Book III Ending Movie however.

History

Dire Breidablik is a parallel version of Breidablik, originating from the ruined Zenith that Líf and Thrasir also originate from. To stave off the invasion of Hel's forces, the people of this Zenith intended to perform the Heart's Rite with Angrboða's Heart. However, breaking the seal on the heart caused everyone in this world to die and Breidablik to be left in the blood temple that housed Angrboða's Heart.

During the events of Book III, Líf and Thrasir, now working as generals for Hel, steal Breidablik so that it cannot be used to kill Hel. The prime Alfonse, Sharena and Veronica eventually learn of the history of the ruined Zenith and seek out the divine weapon to stop Hel's invasion of their own world. After defeating Líf, who held the Breidablik, they go to confront Hel. During the battle, Veronica performs the Heart's Rite, turning the parallel Breidablik into the black Dire Breidablik. The Summoner then uses it to kill Hel and save Askr. Afterwards, it remains in the Summoner's possession.
