The Sentinel (聖槍使い, Seisou Tsukai, meaning "holy lance user") class, also referred to in Japan as the Holy Lancer (ホーリーランサー, Hoorii Ransaa), and in the PAL English version as the Lancer, is a third-tier lance-using class exclusive to Radiant Dawn. This class is the final stage of the Soldier-to-Halberdier promotion line, only appearing in this game.

Sentinels are very powerful fighters, with high stats all around. However, their resistance is rather low, which can leave them vulnerable to enemy magic attackers. They have the Impale skill, which quadruples damage, almost always killing the enemy. Overall, they are very sturdy and useful units.
