The (Japanese: リングオブリーヴ Ring of Reeve) is a plot-important item appearing in TearRing Saga: Yutona Heroes War Chronicles. It is a legendary ring passed down through Reeve's, one of Yutona's daughters, bloodlines. It allows some of her descendants bearing the mark of Yutona to transform into the Guardian Dragon Muse.[1]
If in the possession of the wrong hands, the Ring of Reeve allows control of the bearer of the mark of Yutona that is currently connected to the ring.[2]
While the item is held by both Enteh and Runan during the story, Enteh only ever gets one opportunity to transform into Muse.
History
The Ring of Reeve originally belonged to one of Yutona's four daughters, whose name was Reeve, both the namesake of the ring and the kingdom. Reeve could use the ring to become the Guardian Dragon Muse, and this ability has been sporadically passed down through her children. It was traditionally stored in the Water Temple of Reeve.
Before the events of the game, Guenchaos managed to obtain the Ring of Reeve. Using his magic, he forced Princess Maeve to transform into Muse and destroy the city of Nolzeria and kill Runan's father.[2] Fortunately, Octavus and Ezenbah were able to recover the ring from Guenchaos, though at the cost of Octavus's life. Ezenbah then sent Princess Maeve into hiding with a new name, Enteh.
After this Ezenbah entrusted the Ring of Reeve to Claris, Octavus's daughter, to keep it as far away from Enteh as possible.[3] Later, Claris, upon finding Maeve with Runan's group, returns the ring to her.
Later, Runan goes to meet Sennet of Canaan in Nolzeria to sign a peace treaty. However, their meeting is interrupted by Neyfa, who has transformed into Rakis. Enteh uses the Ring of Reeve to transform into Muse and face off against Rakis, though the two dragons are evenly matched, and are barely able to scratch each other. Sennet is eventually able to calm Neyfa and she reverts to human form. Sennet is able to receive the Ring of Canaan from her, though Guenchaos captures her again and takes her to Mount Cielo. Sennet enters the Earth temple, which houses a cave leading to inside Mount Cielo to rescue Neyfa.
After the fight, Enteh entrusts the ring to Runan[4] and goes to the Water Shrine in a fruitless attempt to rescue Neyfa. Runan, in pursuit of her, arrives at the Water Temple and uses the Ring of Reeve to awaken the Holy Sword Reeve. He then finds out Enteh has been captured by the Gerxel cult and intends to sacrifice her to revive Gerxel. Runan resolves to travel into Mount Cielo and rescue Enteh, and enters the mountain through a cave in the Water Temple.[5]
