The Light Mage (Japanese:
The Light Mage has very high magic, but low defense. As with all Mage variants, it excels at combating physical enemies with low resistance, dealing significant damage. However, compared to normal Mages it possesses significantly lower speed which often prevents it from follow-up attacking the majority of enemies, and unlike the series' other slow magic class, the Shaman/Dark Mage, its HP and defense stats are even lower, making it even more vulnerable. The class's flaws are mitigated somewhat by access to the Thani tome and the prevalence of mounted and armored bosses, weak to the tome, early in the game.
Micaiah changes class from Light Mage to its advanced form, Light Sage, in a story event which occurs in the closing cutscene of the Part I, Endgame. She promotes again from Light Sage to Light Priestess toward the end of Part 4.
