The Corsair (湖賊, Kozoku, meaning "lake thief") class is a rare class exclusive to Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade. Corsairs are axe-using units that can travel on water spaces. However, this class is identical to the Pirate class in every way, except for their names and descriptions; while the Pirate's description states that they fight on the seas, the Corsair's description only mentions "water".
Corsairs only appear in one chapter, Four-Fanged Offense, and only in one version of the chapter. Only eight enemy corsairs appear in the chapter, and they are never seen again in the game or in the whole Fire Emblem series. This chapter takes place near a lake, which may explain why the Corsair class appears instead of just the Pirate class.
Overall, they are not a very hard class to defeat. A sword or magic-using character can easily defeat a corsair. However, since they can travel across water, a player should still be careful when going near the shore.
The word "corsair" has the overall same meaning as "pirate". [1]
