The Trueblade (Japanese: 剣聖 sword saint) class, also referred to as the Sword Eschatos (Japanese: ソードエスカトス) class in Japan, is a very advanced sword-using class debuting in Radiant Dawn. In its first appearance, it is the last in a rare three-stage promotion line, starting with the Myrmidon class, then the Swordmaster class, and finally the Trueblade. In Fates, it is one possible promoted form of the new Samurai class, the alternative being the Weapon Master.
The Trueblade (Japanese: <ruby><rb>剣聖</rb><rt>ソードエスカトス</rt></ruby> Sword Eschatos) is an advanced sword-using class which debuted in FE10. It originated as a rare third-tier promoted class in Radiant Dawn which was the final stage of the Myrmidon class, promoting from the Swordmaster class. In FE14, it is instead a typical advanced class which acts as a Hoshido counterpart for the Swordmaster, and is one of the class change options for the new Samurai class, the alternative being the Weapon Master.

Trueblades are extremely powerful, being a third-tier class in Radiant Dawn. They have high stats all around, although their strength and defense pale slightly in comparison to those of other final classes. Additionally, their resistance is rather low, and they do not have any ranged attacks, save for with swords such as the Tempest Blade.
Being an advanced Swordmaster in one game and a counterpart for it in another, the Trueblade continues the Myrmidon line's traditional stat build and takes it to its extreme conclusion. While their raw damage output is lower than the average due to their lesser strength, their skill and speed are immense and among the highest of any class in both games, giving them great accuracy and a very high chance of double-attacking their foes and making them very efficient fighters. As a result of their high skill and their possession of a skill which grants them a significant critical bonus, Trueblades also inflict critical hits very frequently.  They also make near-exclusive use of the iconic Astra skill, allowing them to land five consecutive blows on their target when the skill activates.

However, they have an amazingly large bonus of +20% critical, and trueblades often have high skill, which additionally contributes to critical hit chance. Additionally, they have the Astra skill, which allows trueblades to attack five times in a row when activated, though their opponents are often decimated before the final strike. With few flaws, their skills compensate for their weakness in strength, and the Trueblade class is overall a very strong attacker.
However, Trueblades are held back by their frailty, as their maximum HP, defense and resistance are all fairly low compared to other infantry classes. In addition, their sword-exclusive nature greatly limits their options for long-range attack; in Radiant Dawn, their only common option is to use magic swords which rely on their virtually non-existent magic stat. As with Swordmasters, Trueblades are most effective when their faults are mitigated through tactical use of terrain benefits to bolster their defenses and increase their avoid.

The Trueblade (Japanese: 剣聖ソードエスカトス Sword Eschatos) is an advanced sword-using class which debuted in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. It originated as a rare third-tier promoted class in Radiant Dawn which was the final stage of the Myrmidon class, promoting from the Swordmaster class. In Fire Emblem Fates, it is instead a typical advanced class which acts as a Hoshido counterpart for the Swordmaster, and is one of the class change options for the new Samurai class, the alternative being the Weapon Master.
