The Fell Dragon Sombron/Script
At Destinea Cathedral, Hortensia worries about whether her sister Ivy will return, and discusses her father's change in behavior with her retainer Rosado. Goldmary arrives with an Emblem Ring to give to Hortensia, relaying a message from Hyacinth that they are to prepare for battle. Alear and their army then arrive outside the cathedral. Before they enter, Marth warns them that they would not be ready to fight Sombron if the ritual has been completed, and that they should be ready to retreat at a moment's notice. Alear still decides to move in to rescue Morion, stating that having six of the twelve Emblem Rings will give them a significant advantage, and they express their gratitude and trust in Marth before moving in.
Inside the cathedral, Hyacinth greets the army and infers that Ivy had been killed in the previous battle, shocking Hortensia. Alear demands that he release Morion, then Alfred, Diamant, and Alcryst spot him behind the cathedral's altar. Hyacinth reveals that the ritual has already been completed, and that Morion has been transformed into a Corrupted. Marth urges Alear to call their army to retreat, but they, Diamant, and Alcryst refuse. In response, Hyacinth shuts the doors to the cathedral, and thanks Alear for bringing the Emblem Rings to him. Enraged, Alear commands their army to fight against Hyacinth. Alcryst and Alfred wish for a way to return Morion to normal, but Marth explains that he is truly dead. Diamant and Alear steel their resolve and prepare themselves to give Morion a proper death.
Alear's army succeeds in defeating Hyacinth's forces and manage to corner him. As Diamant is about to land the killing blow, the assassin who killed Lumera appears to save him. Sombron then arrives, and is welcomed by a very nervous Hyacinth. Hungry for more sovereign blood, Sombron transforms into a dragon and devours Hyacinth whole, leaving his Emblem Ring to fall to the ground. The assassin gloats, leading a horrified and angered Hortensia into knocking her hood off, revealing her to be a red-eyed Veyle. She then reveals herself to be Sombron's daughter, the Fell Princess. Left despondent, Alear asks how she could deceive them, only for her to state that she has never spoken with them.
Soon after, Zephia arrives and introduces herself as Sombron's servant. Together with her arrive the rest of the Four Hounds: Griss, Marni, and Mauvier. Alear loses patience and orders their army to engage with their Emblems and fight past them, but Veyle snatches all of them in an instant using the Draconic Time Crystal. Sombron then receives the six rings from her and recites each of their incantations, transforming them all into Dark Emblems, to Alear's horror. Vander urges Alear to retreat, while Veyle taunts them. Alear helplessly begs Veyle to give the rings back to them.

Strategy
This section details unofficial strategies that may help with completion of the chapter. This may not work for everybody. |
Before starting this chapter, you will receive a warning stating that once you begin, you won't be able to return to the Somniel until you complete a series of consecutive battles (chapters). Furthermore, if there are any skills or weapon proficiencies you want your units to inherit from your Emblems, do so now before beginning the chapter. After you complete this chapter, all of the Emblems (barring DLC) you obtained so far will be taken away from you, preventing your units from accessing their unique weapons and abilities, or inherit any available skills and proficiencies until you can gradually reclaim them again starting from Chapter 17.
The map immediately begins rather hectically as Rosado and Goldmary's squads rush the player. Rosado starts rather close to the player and sports a Killer Axe on his already terrifying 21 Strength. There's no real option except to back off and let him approach, rushing his squad down on turn 2. On the right side, putting a mage or Hammer-user on the pillar will enemy phase only the Lance Armor while the rest of the enemies move in.
Goldmary's squad tends to take an extra turn reaching your positions if you start running left on turn 2, so do just that and get rid of Rosado along the way with anti-flier weaponry. Since Goldmary is a prepromote, she'll inevitably outrun her own minions if you give her enough turns, which can be achieved by continuing to run left. While doing so, try to kill the Thief for the chest loot. Goldmary herself is not easy to bring down, as she has a ridiculous 38 HP, 17 Def and 12 Res... with 17 AS, making doubling her a pipe dream for most units. Commit your Warp Ragnarok to maul her for heavy damage and bombard her with ranged attacks until she goes down, mopping up the incoming Sword Fighters and Archer afterwards.
Hortensia's squad is not easy to deal with. While the fliers die to bow users, and the armors die to mages, it's important not to provoke Hortensia on accident by leaving someone in her Elfire range. Packing Emblem ??? to give her a huge stat boost, she is carrying the Lúin, and while it may seem mediocre at first, Alear is allergic to that thing and will either die or take massive damage if she skewers them with its effective 38 might for a total of 49 ATK. Even if Alear reclasses into Sword Armor, Hortensia will double them with her 15 AS instead, with predictable results. Effective damage also doesn't work, and magic is basically worthless against her 23 Res, so it's better to just commit physical Engage attacks on her until she dies.
Once Hortensia goes down, the next targets are Morion and Hyacinth. Hyacinth is content to sit on the other side of the map until you go and provoke his minions, so he isn't a problem for the time being. Morion's squad on the other hand, charges if you get rid of the door. You could do the map the intended way and open the door to fight him, or you could cheese him with Warp + Rescue or Rewarp. If you use these staves to send someone past the door, they can aggro Morion by entering his range. Once Morion starts chasing this unit, teleport them back to the bottom side of the map. Morion's squad will never consider breaking down the door, and since only Morion from amongst them has 2-range, you can safely duel him with your own 2-range from the other side of the door.
Hyacinth is not an easy boss by any means. While his bodyguards are mostly pushovers, the King of Elusia has 49 HP, 19/21 defenses and 16 AS, making him rather bulky. He can also hit fliers, horses and armors with effective damage, and can do the former from up to 10 tiles away every other turn. Even though his Killer Bow and Mani Katti are dumbed down with harshly reduced crit rates, they can still pose a threat to lower-Lck units, and he doesn't even have to use them; he has 26x2 Atk with his fists, which act as a brave weapon. The best way to survive a prolonged engagement with him is take advantage of his tendency to use Astra Storm every other turn if he can't kill anything. As long as your fliers and low-HP units aren't near him, he'll throw out an Astra Storm every other turn. Since it isn't killing anything on its own, you can heal it off while your other units move in to deal damage. Hyacinth lacks a 1-2 range weapon; he's stuck with either 1-range or 2-range, so you can take advantage of his blind spot to get hits in without taking damage in return; as long as you are able to survive his attacks each turn, he will go down eventually.
