The Sky Knight (Japanese: 天馬武者 Tenma Musya) is a base flying, pegasus-mounted class debuting in Fire Emblem Fates. It is identical in function to the Pegasus Knight class of previous entries in the Fire Emblem series, as a basic class which wields naginata, the Hoshidan equivalent of lances. Unlike Pegasus Knights, however, Sky Knights may be either male or female.

Much like the class' predecessor, Sky Knights are known for their impressive speed and resistance, making them highly effective at neutralizing magical threats. However, their low HP and defense leaves them vulnerable when faced against strong physical units such as Fighters, and they also fall easily to bows, yumi, and wind magic, as is common to all flying units. Despite these initial difficulties, however, they can grow to become some of the player's most useful units.

Sky Knights may promote to either Falcon Knights, or Kinshi Knights.

Trivia

  • In the English version, the sky knight's help description mistakenly states that sky knights excel in defense. The Japanese version states they have high resistance instead.[1]
