The King (Japanese: 国王 King) is a class exclusive to the enemy character Zephiel, king of Bern, as the name implies. It is used only during Zephiel's appearance in Chapter 22, as one of the last bosses in the entire game. Zephiel plays an antagonistic role throughout the story of The Binding Blade, and his appearance as boss of the fourth-to-last chapter necessitates his status as an extremely powerful unit, giving the King class powerful stats in every category.
Generally, the King class fills in its gameplay role as an endgame boss as well as a storyline role in the status of Zephiel. After a full completion of the game, Zephiel is playable in the non-canon Trial Maps.
