Dragons from Afar/Script
In a ruined chamber, a woman prays for salvation for her world, but eventually succumbs to despair. Alear then find themself in a strange dimension, where they meet a person much like them, who asks Alear to save those who are important to the person. Alear immediately accepts, musing that it may be a chance for them to regain something that they lost long ago. The person explains that Alear must collect the seven Emblem Bracelets to save their world from a wicked being, and then transports them to their world. The person then calls Alear their "twin from another world," and wishes for Alear to feel any kind of emotion in their stead.
Alear awakens within Lythos Castle, where they meet Nel and Nil, two twin dragons. The two explain that their world's Divine Dragon has been long dead, and their world has been left in darkness as a result. Nel walks away abruptly, while Nil attempts to tell Alear that the history between them is complicated. The two take Alear to the castle's Bracelet Vault, where only one of the Emblem Bracelets remains—that of the Shepherd Exalt—while the other six were lost in a war against Sombron. Nel exposits further about her world: like in Alear's Elyos, the Fell Dragons sought to conquer the world millennia ago. The Divine Dragons then prayed for salvation, which came in the form of the Emblem Bracelets, who brought with them a temporary peace. One thousand years ago, however, Sombron sought to take the Bracelets for his own ends, and began a war that spanned the entire continent. Queen Lumera eventually managed to sacrifice her life to imprison him. Lumera's natural child, the Alear of this world, then took her throne and managed to bring peace to Elyos again. Some time later, Sombron returned and began another war, which ended in the simultaneous deaths of him and that world's Alear.
Nel and Nil then explain that an elusive being is attempting to carry out Sombron's ambitions by gathering the seven bracelets, and reason that they likely already have two of them. They further explain that one of the four other bracelets are held by each of the four nations of Elyos, who have descended into chaos and disunity without their world's Alear. Nel warns Alear that they may need to fight people who resemble their friends, and they braces themself for it. They assume that the two are fellow Divine Dragons, but before they can respond, a group of Corrupted assassins ambush them. Nel then transforms into a Fell Dragon, and explains that they are born as twins in this world. Despite this, Alear chooses to fight alongside them, and the three work to fend off the invaders.
Though the assassins are defeated, they escape while dropping the Bracelet of the Ancestor. Alear attempts to summon its Emblem, but they fail to remember its invocation. Despite this, the bracelet's Emblem, Tiki, appears before them as a Dark Emblem, but somehow manages to speak. When she wishes to stop fighting, Nel suggests that she use her power to return Tiki to slumber, which would also prevent her power from being abused. She also mentions that this world's Alear was able to cleanse "Fallen Emblems". Alear agrees to Nel's request, and says farewell to Tiki, who is then put to sleep. Nel and Nil deduce that, to have the ability to awaken Emblems, their enemy must be a Fell Dragon, and one of their surviving siblings from the war. Nil then tells Alear that he was deemed a failure by Sombron for his inability to turn into a dragon or control Emblems, and that he only survived because Nel protected him as she left. The twins restate their mission to Alear, who agrees to continue helping.
Before the three leave Lythos, the twins bring Alear to their alternate self's grave. Though disturbed by the situation, Alear pledges to fulfill their alternate self's place.
Sometime in the past, a young Nil cries over his inability to become a dragon. Nel consoles him and offers her dragonstone, saying that he can share her power.
