The Dark Knight (Japanese: ダークナイト Dark Knight) is a class that has never made an official appearance in the Fire Emblem series--Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem, the only time it appeared in a game's coding, had the Dark Knight class go unused.

Little is known about the class, but it is suspected it may have been intended to be a personal class for Camus, who ended up being a Paladin in the finished product (as well as in his other Archanean appearances). If the class was indeed intended for Camus, it is unknown if it would have been used exclusively in his normal persona in Book 1, or if he would have also used it in his Sirius persona in Book 2.

If cheated into the game, it has a unique map sprite, but uses the cavalier's sprite in battle. The Dark Knight cannot dismount, so if it is indoors, it cannot move.
