While wearing certain costumes, a character may use special voice lines matching the costume when their turn comes up in battle. For example: Kiria speaking in a cutesy voice while wearing "Purrfect Cat", or Yashiro laughing maniacally while wearing "Bloody Fate". | |||
In the Wii U version, some costumes are available exclusively as downloadable content. With the exception of the swimsuits found only in the Japanese version, these costumes were included in the vanilla game of Encore and can be found in the Area of Aspersion along with one new costume for each character. Every playable character has at least one costume that originates from an outside source, either a Fire Emblem game or a game created by Atlus. | In the Wii U version, some costumes are available exclusively as downloadable content. Costumes are content appearing in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE. Characters can equip various costumes to change their appearance at the player's leisure. Costumes are purely visual and for the player's enjoyment.
Overview
Most of the costumes available in Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE are seen worn by the characters in cutscenes at some point during the game. Some will become immediately available once seen, while others—most notably from shows and concerts—will instead end up at the Anzu store for purchase.
Changing a character's costume will only affect their appearance in while in battle. If the player changes a character's costume and is in the main cast when entering a battle, a short cutscene will play showing the character transforming into their Carnage Form with the costume on.
