Heroes (勇者, Yuusha, meaning "hero") are a sword-wielding class present in Fire Emblem. They have appeared in every game with the exceptions of the Jugdral games, Seisen no Keifu and Thracia 776. Heroes are powerful fighters that attack with swords. They are often slower than swordmasters, another advanced sword-wielding class, but they usually have more HP and strength.

Heroes are usually the promoted form of mercenaries. In Fire Emblem Gaiden, they are the promoted class of the Fighter class, and in Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, both mercenaries and fighters can change class to heroes. In Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, heroes can change class again to the Vanguard class.

As physical units, they can be placed in the front lines of an army without much worry because of their high HP and good defense. Compared to swordmasters, they have higher attack, defense, and HP, but less skill, speed, and luck. Like other physical units, they have low resistance, making them vulnerable to magic attacks.

The term hero can also be used to describe the heroes of Fire Emblem legends, such as Anri, ancestor of Marth and wielder of the Falchion.
